POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK – The Marist women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match-up as they fell to Hofstra, 4-0, Tuesday afternoon at the East Campus Tennis Pavilion.
The two teams were only able to play singles matches before rain halted play after four matches. Two singles matches remained unfinished due to the weather.
Freshman Claire Schmitz (Scotia, N.Y.), senior Sabrina Tahir (Yonkers, N.Y.), junior Melissa Carlay (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), and junior Nikki Rohan (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) all completed their matches but fell to some tough Hofstra competition.
Junior Karly Pang (Keneohe, Hawaii) and sophomore Callie Morlock (Golden, Colo.) were both leading their matches before play was halted. With Hofstra already securing the fourth point both coaches mutually agreed to end the match.
The Red Foxes get back to conference play and remain at home as they take on Siena, Thursday April 2 at 6:30 P.M.
