When you plan a trip with BRT, you are helping more than yourself.

Travel Notes

One of the most meaningful aspects of our work at BRT is the opportunity to give back and support the love of travel. Through our daily work and programs like BRT’s Moments That Matter Scholarship, Bob Rogers Travel is able to help youth experience the joy of travel. Today we are excited to share the stories of two “Wish Kids,” which BRT was proud to recently support through our corporate sponsorship of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Wish Child – Morgan

Morgan is a shy three-year-old girl who lives with her parents, and dog Rigs, in Flora. When it comes time to relax, she loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Dora the Explorer while eating a big bowl of macaroni and cheese.

In March 2012, Morgan was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and receives chemotherapy. Despite it all, Morgan remains a positive young girl, who is a joy to her family and friends.

Morgan’s wish was to take a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas. Thanks to Make-A-Wish, Morgan and her family had the opportunity to take a trip on the magnificent Disney Dream cruise ship. During her trip Morgan met her favorite characters, Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

During the day, Morgan swam in Mickey’s Pool and Nemos’ Reef, at night she watched musical extravaganzas, such as Villains Tonight. Morgan’s family enjoyed spending time together and seeing Morgan’s constant smile warmed their hearts. It was a magical experience that Morgan will never forget.

Wish Child – Riley

Riley is a talkative and personable seven-year-old boy who lives with his mom in North Pekin. His favorite day would consist of being outside and going swimming and to the park, followed by a giant ice-cream cone.

At birth Riley was diagnosed with a congenital cardiac condition. He has undergone three major heart surgeries, the most recent for pulmonary valve replacement, and he will continue to need heart procedures in the future to maintain his health. Throughout his struggles, he remains a funny and compassionate boy that can light up the room.

Riley told Make-A-Wish that he wished to go to Walt Disney World. Last August, Riley and his family were whisked away by limo for their flight to Florida. Once landed, they set out for all the Disney Parks and magical adventures. The highlight of Riley’s wish was when he had a special meet-and-greet with his favorite superheroes. Riley gave big hugs to and took pictures with Spiderman and Captain America. The trip was a perfect week, doctor-and-worry-free, where Riley and his family made many happy memories.

When you travel with BRT, you are helping to make these memories possible. Visit the Make-A-Wish Foundation to add your support to this worthy cause.
