With just more than a week to go before Cyndi Stevenson knows whether she will have a new job in the Florida House, her old job is still open.

The former St. Johns County commissioner is running for the House District 24 seat that will be vacated by Rep. Doc Renuart, who resigned to run for the Florida Senate District 6 seat. Renuart was defeated in the special Republican primary by Rep. Travis Hutson.

Stevenson's seat on the County Commission, which she occupied for a decade, will be filled by an applicant chosen by Gov. Rick Scott.

On Friday, his office released a list of 15 people who are being considered for the appointment.

The list is virtually unchanged from the last update, which was received the first week of March.

On the earlier list but now removed is Michael Calhoun. The only new applicant on the list is Christopher DelBene.

The full list from the Governor's Office is as follows:

¦ James Johns

¦ Kim Kendall

¦ Brian Iannucci

¦ John Capra

¦ David Rice

¦ Andrew DeCandis

¦ Brad Nelson

¦ Peter Apol

¦ Kenneth Kinnecom

¦ Frank Larizza Jr.

¦ Albert Abbatiello

¦ Albert Aftoora

¦ Jamie Seim

¦ Carolyn Francis

¦ DelBene

There was no update provided on the governor's schedule for naming the new commissioner. Online applications for the position were still being accepted Sunday.

The person selected by Scott will complete Stevenson's term, which began in 2012.

Stevenson's last day as a commissioner was Feb. 3. She won a narrow victory over Mike Davis in the Jan. 27 special Republican primary.

She faces Judy Stevens (no party affiliation) and write-in candidate Mary Anne Boczek in the special election April 7.

Early voting has already begun for the election.
