The Walking Dead Season 8 Part 2 gets February air date
David Farnor | On 26, Jan 2018
The Walking Dead Season 8 will return in February, FOX UK has confirmed.
AMC’s long-running zombie drama began its eigth season last October, continuing the fight of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the other survivors, as they prepare to face off against the villainous Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
Following the events of the midseason finale, the show is set to become even darker, as we’re reminded that it’s not just Negan and his baseball bat that pose a threat: while he’s busy with political in-fighting at the Sanctuary, any character can still be infected by the undead without warning.
What’s in store for the show’s future? What we do no for sure is that a Season 9 has already been ordered, with writer and co-exec producer Angela Kang promoted to showrunner, as Scott Gimple steps up to become Chief Content Officer of the overall TWD universe, including Fear the Walking Dead. In the meantime, you can find out what’s next for Rick and the gang from Monday 26th February, when Season 8 returns on FOX UK, within 24 hours of the series’ US debut.

22nd July 2017
The Walking Dead Season 8 trailer is finally here, following the show’s panel at Comic-Con.
The panel was a low-key affair, as showrunner Scott Gimple paid tribute to stuntman John Bernecker, who died in an on-set accident on 12th July. The Walking Dead’s panel followed a panel for Fear the Walking Dead, which began with a moment of silence in Hall H in memory of Bernecker.
“John passed away last week after he was injured doing something he loved,” Gimple said. “He helped make movies and shows for people like everyone in this room. He was living his dream.”
The panel then continued as normal, as Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were all on hand to answer questions from fans, alongside Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, Seth Gilliam, Alanna Masterson, Khary Payton and Chandler Riggs. EPs Gake Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, David Alpert, Robert Kirkman and Gimple also fielded questions and presented the trailer for the show’s eight run.
“I think I counted six explosions in the trailer alone,” joked Kirkman, describing the season as “action-packed”. With the video since released online, it certainly looks like he’s telling the truth:
The Walking Dead Season 8 will premiere on 23rd October on FOX UK, within 24 hours of its US broadcast on AMC.
The Walking Dead Season 8 gets October release date
21st July 2017
The Walking Dead will return to our screens this October, AMC and FOX UK have confirmed.
The zombie hit series has been one of the biggest shows of the modern TV era, with the show a regular presence at Comic-Con each year.
This year, the show’s attendance at Comic-Con has been scaled down, following the tragic accidental death of stuntman John Bernecker during production. Nonetheless, the show will be holding a panel today at the San Diego event, where it will unveil fresh details of what’s in store for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the other survivors, as they brace to face off against the villainous Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
Ahead of Comic-Con, AMC debuted a brand new poster for Season 8, teasing the brewing battle between Rick and Negan. The poster also confirmed the air date for the new season, which will premiere on 22nd October on AMC. That means in the UK, Episode 1 of Season 8 will land on 23rd October on FOX UK, with episodes then arriving weekly within 24 hours of their US broadcast.

The zombie drama will have its 100th episode during this new season, and there’s every reason to expect something dramatic, after the shocking events of Season 6 and Season 7. Speaking to EW ahead of Comic-Con last week, showrunner Scott Gimple released the first photo from the eighth run, giving us a sight of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) together once more.
“The season finale last year, seeing all the characters together interacting as one, was thrilling. It was exciting to see all these configurations of characters we hadn’t seen before. Even Aaron merely giving Jerry an apple felt satisfying,” he said. “This is that times a million. Though it would be cool if the season began with just everybody giving each other apples. I’d be down with that. But it’s not that.”
