West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor has won the ICC Player of the Month award for July 2021.

Taylor scored a hundred in getting 175 runs in four ODIs and took three wickets at 27 runs apiece against Pakistan women in July.

The Jamaican also took a hat-trick among four wickets in the T20I series against the visiting Pakistan team.

Taylor led the West Indies to series victories over Pakistan in the ODIs and T20Is.

The 30-year-old said she was surprised to win the award.

"It shows that the hard work you put in, will pay off and it did, against Pakistan, to help us win that series. We played well in both formats,” Taylor said.

Taylor is playing in The Hundred competition in England but is looking forward to representing the West Indies against South Africa women later this month.

"We’re also looking forward to the series against South Africa at home, and we will be looking to win that as well. I want to thank the fans for all their support, as it is always appreciated," Taylor added.

Taylor became the third and youngest woman in history to score 8,000 international runs.
