SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Suspended Syracuse police officer Chester Thompson has been charged with four counts of misdemeanor official misconduct.
Thompson is accused of having sex with a woman who called for help, according to a source.
Syracuse police received two complaints against Thompson, Lt. Eric Carr said. The department's Office of Professional Standards investigated the claims and turned over the results to the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office.
A grand jury indicted Thompson on the four counts. Thompson was arraigned in court and was released on his own recognizance.
Thompson has been suspended without pay since Feb. 24, Carr said.
His termination from the department is pending, Carr said.
