A developer, owner, and operator of solar energy generation facilities, headquartered in Houston, is seeking a Project Finance candidate. This position is located in our Houston, TX office. 

The individual in this position, reporting to the Director - Finance, will support all aspects of portfolio finance and asset management, ranging from creating and updating financial models for operating projects to modeling and analyzing tax structures. Additional activities involve conducting market research and due diligence, analyzing potential divestitures, and communicating with third party investors, lenders, and hedge counterparties. 

Job responsibilities and special projects will include:

- Developing and managing valuation models to analyze net income, cash flow, tax benefits, and debt service coverage ratios associated

with various energy projects. 

- Developing models to calculate the Hypothetical Liquidation Book Value of operating solar projects.

- Developing models for Tax Equity, Debt, and Equity analysis of projects.

- Conducting project due diligence and communicating findings to management.

- Collaborating with company engineers, asset managers, developers, and accounting professionals to develop appropriate assumptions for project models.

- Support and analyze portfolio finance and asset management activities.

- Provide financial and/or statistical support to other departments throughout the organization.

- Utilizing discretion in handling confidential information when communicating with third parties.

- Work closely with other members of finance, asset management, accounting, marketing, and operations on forecasting issues.

- Assist with modeling and support of asset acquisitions and dispositions as needed.:

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Finance, accounting or engineering major preferred.

- Strong financial modeling skills using MS Excel required with 3-4 years of experience a must. (A modeling test will be given during the interview process) Experience with VBA, Salesforce, and PVSyst software packages is desirable, but not necessary.

- Presentation skills, Word and Powerpoint are required. An eye for aesthetic presentation is a plus as presenting financial investments is critical.

- Ability to coordinate with multiple functional groups to analyze business issues and determine a strategy for optimizing performance.

- Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.

- Excellent communication and strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties, as assigned.

- Experience in power generation, energy/utilities sector, or project finance strongly preferred.
