The conference features a brilliant mix of practical and theory sessions that includes more than 200 presentations. The conference program features a range of formats, including 45 or 90 minute active and non-active practical sessions, 20 minute theoretical presentations, keynote speakers, poster presentations and forums. Because of the wide scope of the presentations from local, national, and international presenters there is much to appeal to all participants. You can choose to attend hands-on practical sessions for each of the 3 days where examples, ideas, and teaching approaches are exchanged relating to a range of games, dance, sports, active academics, student performance and health topics. Monday will feature a focus on game
centred approaches and Tuesday will highlight sessions focussed on the Australian Curriculum. There is a minimum of 3 hours of practical sessions to enjoy each day if you wish! Or, you could choose to attend selected practicals mixed with some of the short 20 minute theory presentations available to hear about successful programs across a range of issues such as un-motivated students (cultural inclusivity, gender divides, social skill building, fundamental motor skills, healthy living projects etc), research outcomes, curriculum initiatives, teacher preparation/education, and active learning in the classroom.
