Exploring Jezebel’s Family Tree: Jezebel and Herod

Herodias, the wife of Herod Antipas.

Now that we’ve addressed Jezebel’s parents and her first personality, Delilah, let’s discuss her second personality: Herod. If Delilah is Jezebel’s seductive side and Absalom, whom we’ll discuss next time, is Jezebel’s [politically] persuasive side, then Herod is Jezebel’s carnal, murderous side. A dangerous foe indeed. Let’s dig in.

The only sermon I’ve ever heard on Herod is “The Spirit of Herod” by Bishop Tudor Bismark. It’s PHENOMENAL. And I am devastated that I cannot find my copy of it anywhere! *sad face* In this sermon, Bishop describes the Herodian spirit like Esau: concerned only with his carnal appetite; willing to give up the birthright to get what it wants right now. And with Esau as well as the Herods in the New Testament, we see the murderous rage that accompanies this demonic prince. And wouldn’t you know it, but the Herods are, in fact, Edomites, descended from Esau himself. Looks like Bishop was on to something.

Esau (Edom), the Hunter. (Jacob)

Herod was born in southern Palestine. His father, Antipater, was an Edomite (an Arab from the region between the Dead Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba). Antipater was a man of great influence and wealth who increased both by marrying the daughter of a noble from Petra (in southwestern Jordan), at that time the capital of the rising Nabataean kingdom. Thus, Herod was, although a practicing Jew, of Arab origin on both sides. (Britannica)

Herod the Great’s (the Herod who dispatched soldiers to kill all the infant/toddler boys in Bethlehem) genetic composition presents us with an interesting conundrum. He is a whitewashed enemy-ruler of the Jews. Or to put it another way, he has a form of godliness, yet denies the power thereof. And to sum it up, that is the spirit of Jezebel.

Herod the Great, The Wise Men, Herod Antipas, and their family. (The Nativity

Jezebel, the most popular religious spirit in all of Hell, comes to us very pious, very deep, and very full of other-worldly wisdom and revelations. If you don’t know any better, you’ll think this prince is coming to you in the Spirit of God. But it’s a counterfeit. It’s coming to deceive you and if it can’t sway you, it, true to Herodian form, will try to kill you. (Sounds a bit like King Saul doesn’t it?)

Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. (Revelation 2:20)
And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.” (I Samuel 19:1-2)

Jacob was wrong in swindling Esau (Edom) out of his birthright (at their mother’s behest), but his actions were not worthy of murder. Certainly not fratricide. And Mr. Red-and-Hairy-All-Over had every intention of murdering his brother after their father, Isaac, died, which was why their mom, Rebekah, sent Jacob away to her brother, Laban. (See Genesis 27.)

As listed in the Scripture passage above, when Elijah crossed Jezebel and killed her 850 (false) prophets of Baal and Asherah (the Queen of Heaven), she issued a death threat against the true prophet’s life that sent him running from the witch, even though he’d just slain her servants by the power of God a moment before.

When Herod the Great felt his rule was threatened by the coming King of the Jews, he massacred every single boy-child under the age of two in Bethlehem (Matthew 2:1-15).

Around the same time as this Massacre, Herod disinherited and executed his eldest son, Antipater (Britannica). It is also said that he, knowing the Jewish nation hated him, arranged to have some favourite leaders of the people executed at the same time his death was announced so the people would not be happy, but rather, grieved. Thankfully, this was not accomplished.

When Herodias could no longer stand John the Baptist’s railing against her for marrying her husband’s brother, Herod Antipas, she--through her daughter--had his head chopped off and delivered to her on a silver platter (Matthew 14:1-12).

It was also another Herod, the Tetrarch, who executed James, the brother of John, and also (unsuccessfully) sought to execute Peter as well. Merely because it amused the people (Acts 12:1-4).

Talk about generational curse!

In the Old Testament, Jezebel killed all the prophets of the True and Living God, save Elijah + 7,000 others who did not “bow the knee” to Baal. She also killed Naboth so her whining, jelly-backed husband could have his vineyard. And, I’m sure, based on that example alone, we could safely deduce that she killed anyone she wanted based on whatever personal whim or political idea she had in mind. Whatever her expected end, Jezebel will employ whatever murderous ends she deems necessary to meet it.

In my own life, you may recall my telling a story of witches setting their sights on me. Please remember this and never ever forget it. I’ve said it before and will say it again:

If Jezebel cannot sway you, she will seek to kill you.

Period.

The warlock parading as a pastor that I dealt with discovered in a very short period of time that he could not sway me, so he decided to assassinate my character instead. He tried to make me look like a rogue, un-ordained minister running around spouting hate everywhere I went online.

When that didn’t work, he decided to pray and cast spells for me to get sick.

When that didn’t work, he erected a Satanic altar and prayed with his “under-witches” that I would die.

When that didn’t work, he called five witch-pastors like himself to join him in a three-day fast for me to die.

When that didn’t work, they decided to pray and fast until.

When that didn’t work, they decided to travel from Miami to Charlotte to surround my home (through astral projection) because apparently their prayers and rituals just weren’t working over the 12-hour driving distance.

And when they realised, by the grace of God, that they just couldn’t kill me, they decided to try and kill my peace of mind through various stalking/harassment methods.

Obviously, I’m still here and I’m still sane, praise the Lord. If they’ve tried anything since, I’m completely unaware of it. God was and continues to be a true Strong Tower and His angels keep vigilant watch over me, day and night (Psalm 91). And while things do not always turn out as we like on this earth, Jezebel-Herod, never goes unpunished. In fact, the measure dealt this prince is rather fitting compared to the measure it’s dealt against God’s people.

Now Herod had been very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; but they came to him with one accord, and having made Blastus the king’s personal aide their friend, they asked for peace, because their country was supplied with food by the king’s country. So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died. But the word of God grew and multiplied. (Acts 12:20-24)
Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through a window. Then, as Jehu entered at the gate, she said, “Is it peace, Zimri, murderer of your master?” And he looked up at the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” So two or three eunuchs looked out at him. Then he said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down, and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses; and he trampled her underfoot. And when he had gone in, he ate and drank. Then he said, “Go now, see to this accursed woman, and bury her, for she was a king’s daughter.” So they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands. Therefore they came back and told him. And he said, “This is the word of the Lord, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘On the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel; and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as refuse on the surface of the field, in the plot at Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “Here lies Jezebel.”’” (II Kings 9:30-37)
And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. (Revelation 2:21-23)

This prince will never ever escape the punishment of God Almighty.

And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day… (Jude 1:6)
God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment… (II Peter 2:4)

The SPIRIT of Jezebel-Herod will ALWAYS get theirs. And if the person housing the spirit--and all those in agreement with them--are not careful and repentant, they will get theirs as well. But we should never hope for the destruction/judgment of another human being. Our hatred belongs to Satan and his imps because Christ came to destroy the works of the devil, not the people enslaved by him.

People may be born to an evil situation, a wicked family, or even a fallen destiny like the Sons of Perdition, Judas and the coming Anti-Christ, but no man is born evil. We may be born in sin, but we are not held responsible for our sins until we reach the age of accountability. We, however, are shaped in iniquity once we are on this earth. Evil takes practice. Wickedness takes consciously or unconsciously giving into the spirits like Jezebel that seek to depress, oppress, and ultimately, possess us.

Jezebel is not born, she is made.

May God have mercy on those who make her.
