Oklahoma came raging out of the gates on this one. It never trailed in the first half and had a .406 shooting percentage the first half.  The Spartans were sloppy early in the game and took bad shots which allowed Oklahoma to lead 31-27 at the break.  You have to remember, though, that the coach of Michigan State is Tom Izzo. After halftime, the Spartans came out of the locker room playing like the team that just beat Virginia.

There were five lead changes in a four-minute time span, which broke out into the Spartans taking the lead. Oklahoma fought back and gave Michigan State a fight to the finish, but couldn’t overcome the deficit, losing 62-58 to the Spartans.

Impact Player

Travis Trice led the Michigan State Spartans with 24 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

Strange, Yet True

This game marks Tom Izzo’s 13th  appearance in the Sweet 16, with seven appearances in the last eight years.
