CSAC Legislative Conference Connects and Inspires

More than 300 county officials came together in Sacramento this week for CSAC’s 2022 Legislative Conference that featured a powerhouse agenda highlighted by presentations by Gov. Gavin Newsom, Secretary of State Dr. Shirley Weber, Attorney General Rob Bonta and Senate President pro Tem Toni Atkins. Read more

Health and Human Services Policy Committee Tackle Major Issues During CSAC Legislative Conference
The CSAC Health and Human Services Policy Committee tackled three major issues during the in-person meeting Thursday, hearing from speakers on aging, the Governor’s behavioral health priorities, and homelessness. Napa County Supervisor Belia Ramos, Vice Chair of the Committee, welcomed speakers on each topic. Read more
2022 CSAC Legislative Conference: Government Finance and Administration Policy Committee
The CSAC Government Finance & Administration Policy Committee met on Thursday during the CSAC Legislative Conference to discuss several topics. The Committee kicked off with a panel on California’s budget surplus and how the State Appropriations Limit will dominate California’s budget decisions in the coming years. Read more
Retired Annuitant Use To Be Limited? (Updated)
On April 19, CalPERS began the process of adopting the temporary duration regulations for retired annuitants. As amended, the regulations would allow employers who are unable to fill positions to extend appointments for retired annuitants, as described in the staff analysis. Read more
CSAC to Co-Host Affordable Connectivity Program Webinar
CSAC will be co-hosting a webinar with the California Emerging Technology Foundation (CETF) next Friday, April 29 at 9:00 am focused on how counties can help increase enrollment in the federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Read more
Aging Initiative Results Briefing
On Wednesday, April 20, the California Department of Aging (CDA) hosted a results briefing on the Hubs and Spokes Network for Aging and Disability. The Hubs and Spokes initiative follows up on direction in the Master Plan for Aging to revisit California’s AAA local leadership structures. Read more
