The Future of Work Challenge Launch

8th November 2016, 6pm



We invite you to join us at the launch of Our Place in the World, a new Europe-wide Challenge that will seek out and invest in the most interesting and innovative ideas and designs in the field of social entrepreneurship. This year the theme is ‘The Future of Work. This challenge asks what are the opportunities and solutions for a productive meaningful society as artificial intelligence and robotics are increasingly adopted.


Chaired by Professor Jeremy Myerson, Helen Hamlyn Chair of Design at the Royal College of Art, we’re delighted to present a panel of guest speakers, including:

Tom Watson, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party and Shadow Minister for DCMS, who convened the Future of Work Commission

Will Akerman, Managing Director MyKinda Future

Jason Holt CBE, Founder Holts Academy of Jewellery

Emma Mulqueeny OBE, Founder and CEO of Young Rewired State and Rewired State

Eve Stewart, BAFTA winning RCA alumna and Production Designer whose works include The Danish Girl,The King's Speech and Les Misérables

Our Place in the World is supported by property entrepreneur and philanthropist Tom Shutes, InnovationRCA; the Royal College of Art’s centre for start-ups and entrepreneurship and UnLtd, the Foundation for social entrepreneurs.
