Simple Secrets to Drop Belly Fat For Good...Secrets That Last Forever

Last week I mentioned clients around the world (typically loving Dads with children to look out for) frequently ask me how to lose belly fat and boost their health for good. Real dads that dream of better vitality for themselves and their families and want real long-term results not quick fix frustrations.

The first fundamental, ‘commitment’ was introduced in last weeks article, so dial that in, otherwise your fat loss quest may be futile. Like trying to drive a car with no gas. Once you have the right fuel in your head tank and commitment is locked in, rock on with fundamental fat-loss secret number two.

Here we go…

SECRET FUNDAMENTAL 2: MAKE SPACE & REPLACE
Is your environment or daily schedule jam-packed? What can be cleared out both physically and mentally so that space in your life can be created?

Cluttered environments and lifestyles tend to slow us down, block us from moving forward and crowd out the potential space that is required for any transformation to occur, fat loss or otherwise.

It’s all about nourishment. If your current life space is full with non-nourishing behaviors, how can you kick start new and nourishing ones?

Do you need all those books, papers, magazines and meetings? Do you really need to be on Face book so often? Can you find time to move?

Making space in your life so that you have the time and peace of mind, to do the things your body needs, is crucial. Dropping belly fat requires time and dedication to develop new habits and daily routines, yet we often drop the most nourishing behaviors, thinking they are ‘optional’; they are not. Good sleep, great food and finding time to De-stress are a handful of habits that are not optional if you wish to live well and drop the spare tire.

Cluttered houses, work desks and minds do nothing to speed up the flow of creating new behaviors. As space clears up physically, aim to keep it free from clutter. As space becomes available in your schedule, replace it with nourishing habits that reinforce the answers to your core questions. This is vital, as the answers to your core questions fuel your commitment. They also provide a dose of reality that long-term vitality, means being willing to let go of a few old routines.

Replace eating on the run with sitting down and chilling out at meal times. Replace the, 'all day TV diet' with a, 'daily TV dose' and get away from the addictive flickering screens. Heaven forbid, replace the constant supply of coffee, juices and soda with real water from time to time.

Replace the chaos on your desk with an organizer or filing cabinet and the 1.00AM bed times with better sleep patterns. Replace the routine coffee and cake with a relaxing walk and talk. Heck, here is an idea, replace the car with pedal power and move your legs once a week!

Do you really need the afternoon chocolate pick me up? How about a stand, stretch and stroll instead? Have you ever considered replacing yourself with a coach? Are you holding on to the past without forgiving yourself? What about making space inside your fridge for naturally grown fresh foods? Can you love yourself a little bit more? (That one is crucial, by the way)

The list is endless.

Choosing to eliminate old non-nourishing habits and replacing them with new positive behaviors is a step-by-step process. Yet if you do not pay attention and make space to nourish yourself mentally, emotionally and physically, life itself often becomes space-less.

No space. No new nourishing habits.

No nourishment. No new you.

Period.

Now make some space.
