Walmart has opened a next-generation supercenter store in Cypress, Texas.
The store reflects Walmart's commitment to innovation, community investment and the future of U.S. retail, according to a press release.
It is the company's first ground-up supercenter in four years. The retailer plans to build or convert more than 150 stores to the model over the next several years.
In 2025, Walmart plans to open supercenters in Frisco, Texas; Melissa, Texas; Eagle Mountain, Utah, and Eastvale, California. Neighborhood Markets will debut in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Milton, Florida, and Pace, Florida, while stores in Mountain View, California; and East Windsor, New Jersey, will be converted into full Supercenters.
The Cypress supercenter features reimagined layouts, expanded services and innovative technology.
"It's a commitment to the future, an investment in a community and new job opportunities," John Furner, president and CEO of Walmart U.S., said in the release. "I'm proud of our associates in Cypress who brought this to reality."
