Longmont Startup Week has announced that Eric Wallace, president and co-founder of Left Hand Brewing Co. in Longmont, will be the keynote speaker for the five-day celebration of business, entrepreneurship and community in June 2015.

The inaugural Longmont Startup Week is scheduled for June 1-5.

The theme of the week — LSW15: The Heart of Startup — reflects Longmont’s location at the center of the northern Colorado entrepreneurial zone: Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins.

Keynote speaker Wallace co-founded Left Hand Brewing in 1993, helping to revolutionize the craft brewing industry, first in Colorado and then worldwide. Left Hand’s community marketing, commitment to quality and unique culture have resulted in several award-winning beers, as well as the brewing revolution instigated by their Nitro series. Left Hand Brewing was the first craft brewery to release a bottled nitrogenated beer. In 2013, the company produced approximately 74,523 barrels, and it has ranked as a Top 50 craft brewery since 2011.

LSW15 is organized by Startup Longmont, a volunteer group comprising almost 300 members and founded by TinkerMill (www.tinkermill.org), Colorado’s largest makerspace.
