Former Orange Beach police officer indicted on charges of sexually abusing young girl

A former Orange Beach police officer has been indicted by a Baldwin County grand jury on two counts of sexual abuse to a child under 12 years old, according to court records.

Timothy Gavin, 45, of Foley, is being held on $150,000 bail in the Baldwin County Jail for an alleged offense he was arrested on in August 2014. He resigned as a police officer shortly thereafter.

According to court records, Gavin committed the offense in 2008 and that the victim was between the age of 8-9 years old.

He is scheduled to for arraignment on the charges during a 10:30 a.m. court appearance on March 25.
