"The Big Bang Theory" Honoured Leonard Nimoy With A Moving Tribute

Executive producer Chuck Lorre used his vanity card to pay tribute to the late Star Trek legend.

Last night The Big Bang Theory paid tribute to the late Leonard Nimoy, who was most famous for his role as Mr Spock in Star Trek.

Leonard, Sheldon, Howard, and Raj are all fans of Star Trek, and there are numerous references throughout the series.

The gang are all fluent in Klingon, and Sheldon relates to Spock more than anyone else; the voice of Leonard Nimoy even speaks to Sheldon in his dreams through a Spock action figure.

After Nimoy visited the cast on set for his voiceover episode he told The Hollywood Reporter: "I thoroughly enjoyed myself. They're a talented company and a smart show."

After the news of Nimoy's death last week, some cast members tweeted their respects.

    RIP Leonard Nimoy http://t.co/nt0TwG41rP
