We reviewed Moroccanoil Hand Cream (75ml for £21).

First impressions:

Moroccanoil Hand Cream comes in a plain white tube with a simple text design. It looks modern and fresh and, oh joy, the scent is Fleur d'Oranger. I love citrus aromas so I'm excited!

What’s in it:

Shea, cocoa and mango butters plus antioxidant-rich argan and avocado oils. As you would expect it's paraben free.

Moroccanoil does not test its product on animals – some products do use chemical compounds derived from animal products, so it’s not entirely vegan.

Usage:

It smells amazing! A delicious warm, orange blossom scent ("Fleur D'Oranger") which I loved. The hand cream feels light and rubs in easily; great when you're in a hurry. My hands didn't feel at all greasy afterwards.

One small irritation: the tube of hand cream has a flip-top lid which is hard to get open. After a few weeks the hinge that it was attached by wore thin and then broke, so I could no longer take the hand cream with me in my bag.

Effects:

My hands felt smooth and soothed immediately after using the cream, but the effect didn’t last. I really needed to use it every time I washed my hands to prevent my hands from feeling dry again.

Value:

At £20, Moroccanoil Hand Cream is more expensive than your high street options. Although it has a luxurious feel and a fabulous scent, its effects aren't long-lasting enough for it to feel like it offers good value as a winter hand protector.

Final verdict:

A nice hand cream with a lovely scent, but not one that will make it onto my regular purchase list. It’s perfect for everyday use – just not the intense treat that you may be looking for in the colder months.
