Tech incubators in Toronto like the Mars Discovery District are one of the reasons the city is now in the top three in North America for tech talent.

Fuelled by government funded start-up accelerators, welcoming immigration policies and a healthy venture capital market, Toronto is now rated number three in North America for tech talent, according to the CBRE Group Inc.’s annual report.

The Scoring Tech Talent report, released Tuesday, rated the San Francisco Bay Area at number one, followed by Seattle and Toronto, which climbed up a spot to number three overall with 80,100 tech jobs added in the past five years, for a total of 228,500 tech workers in 2018. The report ranked cities by factors including talent supply, outlook for tech job growth and office and apartment cost inflation.
