Benjamin Samuel has been named director of programs for The National Book Foundation.

Samuel joined the organization as a program manager in 2014. During his years with the foundation, he has been instrumental in a number of programs including: 5 Under 35; the $10,000 Innovations in Reading Prize; and The Other NBA. Samuel has also been involved in the foundation’s digital messaging, website and social media campaigns.

“Benjamin Samuel has brought a great deal of value to the National Book Foundation,” stated David Steinberger, chairman of the board of the National Book Foundation. “His contributions over the past two years have dramatically improved the ways we engage with readers both online and in person, and we’re grateful to have him take on greater responsibilities in his new role as Director of Programs.”
