Google Launches First Ever AdWords App on Android

Google announced the launch of its first ever app dedicated to managing AdWords campaigns. The app is now available worldwide on the Android operating system, with an iOS version said to be in the works.

“Businesses, large and small, are increasingly using smartphones to manage everything from customer support to product orders to marketing. Now, you can use your smartphone to keep your AdWords campaigns running smoothly—no matter where your business takes you.”

The app is designed to be used as a companion to the desktop version — meaning you can only maintain or adjust existing campaigns and view stats, you cannot set up campaigns from scratch.

With this app AdWords users can keep an eye on their campaigns from wherever they are and act on things that needs attention, such as topping up a budget that’s running out.

Here is a full list of things you can do on the app:

  • View campaign stats
  • Update bids and budgets
  • Get real-time alerts and notifications
  • Act on suggestions to improve your campaigns
  • Call a Google expert

The app opens to a dashboard containing an overview of your clicks, costs, and conversions. You can also break down the data by ad group, day of week and device.

Google explains that this app is designed to alert users when an opportunity arises that they can act on. For example, if you can get more impressions by adjusting your bids, the app will let you know so you can make the changes right then and there.

To check out the app for yourself, you can download it today from the Google Play Store.
