Bruce Pearl's big personality once matched his big-time hair.
Images of Pearl's fro, his hairstyle of choice in the early 1980s, began floating around the Internet earlier this season. The SEC Network picked up on it and showed the image of Pearl's voluminous locks to a couple of his players -- Auburn guards KT Harrell and Antoine Mason -- for a segment they released today for Throwback Thursday.
"That's the Jew fro right there," Pearl says in the video. "That's what that is."
Harrell and Mason, seeing the picture for the first time, chuckle. "It doesn't surprise me," Harrell says. "That's hilarious," Mason adds.
Pearl certainly is not camera shy. He is game for almost anything as long as it helps promote his basketball program. From shirtless appearances in the Tennessee student section and a dunk tank fundraiser at Auburn, he's one of the most energetic and fearless coaches in the SEC.
Heck, he even participated in a trick-shot video at Auburn Arena during the summer.
Auburn (12-18, 4-13 SEC) closes the regular season Saturday against Georgia. The game will tip at 3 p.m. inside Auburn Arena. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
