For the second time, after days of deliberation, an Arizona jury has been unable to agree on whether Jodi Arias should get the death penalty in a high-profile murder case.

So a mistrial was declared Thursday, due to the jury deadlock, and Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens will now decide whether the 34-year-old Arias gets life without parole in the grisly slaying of her former boyfriend, Travis Alexander, reports USA Today.

This time, only one holdout juror saved Arias from the ultimate penalty: Jurors who spoke to the media after the mistrial was declared said 11 of the 12 wanted to give Arias death, reports the Arizona Republic

If Stephens gives Arias life with the possibility of parole, she could win release after 25 years behind bars.
