When a local news station in Boise, Idaho aired a segment on Forest, a ginger cat who uses a wheelchair to get around, All Valley Animal Hospital was inundated with adoption applications.
“I’ve heard that we were getting applications every 20 to 30 minutes,” clinic vet Dr. Abbey Burgess told KBOI.
Forest was discovered by a Good Samaritan more than three years ago who spotted him dragging himself along the road, trying to keep up with the rest of his litter.
The animal hospital says they have performed surgeries on him to try and make his back legs function, but they were unsuccessful.

Forest’s paralysis doesn’t hold him back though, as he gets around quite well with or without his wheelchair.
His profile on the hospital’s site describes him as “most unusual, intelligent and entertaining.”
Applications to adopt Forest are coming in from around the world, but the hospital staff says they will be very picky when it comes to choosing Forest’s new family.
“A lot of people see a really cute cat in a wheelchair and want to jump on that opportunity to take him,” said Burgess. “But he is going to require a lot of extra work.”
That extra work includes potty training him and socializing him around small children and other bigger animals like dogs.
“We just love this cat to pieces,” said Burgess. “If he has to go, we want him to go to the best home possible, and hopefully he’ll live a better life than he would staying with us.”
