MINI Brings Out the Surprising Countryman Park Lane Edition in Geneva

The press map of MINI that was presented to the journalists ahead of the Geneva Motor Show didn’t include the MINI Countryman Park Lane model as one of its premieres. Therefore, the British manufacturer managed to surprise us once again, with a model that is supposed to be special.

The car itself is just a regular Countryman if you will but, as usual, the Devil is in the details. The Park Lane Countryman will be available worldwide with four engine choices starting this July. So what’s special about it?

Well, the design is the one thing that sets it apart the most. The colors used on the outside and the styling have been created for this car alone and while the body finish is Earl Grey Metallic, the stripes on it are done in Oak Red that was also used for the roof and exterior mirror caps.

The wheels come in 18” guise as standard on this particular car and they have been done in what MINI calls Turbo Fan Dark Grey, a color that really matches the overall package. Since this is supposed to be a top of the line choice, the ALL4 exterior package was added to the mix, comprised of carefully picked details such as the silver body elements for the front and rear aprons as well as the side sills.

Step inside and the same color scheme applies. The ‘Park Lane’ door sills tell you what’s up as soon as you open the doors while Oxide Silver door bezels and cockpit trims join Cross Stripe Grey side surrounds. Carbon Black trims complete the package that is supposed to create a ‘sports-style premium ambiance’ inside.

Of course, you can also add your own choice of optionals for this car both in or outside of the car. The Park Lane Chili package adds LED fog lamps and white direction indicators for example while the Chrome Line Exterior option will be available for no extra charge and will add the well-known chrome detailing we’ve been getting used to, if that’s your thing.

The four engine choices vary from the base 122 HP 1.6-liter Cooper version to the Cooper S with 190 HP if you choose petrol or the Cooper D with a 112 HP 4-cylinder diesel and the Cooper SD with 143 HP if you go for the Cooper SD. All cars can be had with either front-wheel drive or ALL4 all-wheel drive traction.
