MONTREAL – A 39-year-old Quebec man is facing charges after allegedly causing a disturbance on a Via Rail train near Belleville, Ont.
Belleville police responded to a complaint about an intoxicated man on a train heading from Montreal to Belleville.
Police say the man was arrested for public intoxication when the train arrived at the station, and he was removed.
They seized a significant quantity of drugs — marijuana, hashish and methamphetamine.
The unidentified man was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of breach of recognizance.
He is being held in custody for a bail hearing in Belleville on Monday.
