Check out that fancy logo! Isn’t it awesome? Since this is becoming a regular thing, we wanted to make it more official with a logo and a set template. Also, I will admit that books I’m looking forward to dominated this month’s list. I actually had ten titles on my TBR list that are coming out, but I didn’t want to overwhelm you with my good book noises. A lot of us are also going back a reading backlist titles.
Now tell us what you’re excited about!

First Time in Forever
Author: Sarah Morgan
Released: February 24, 2015 by HQN
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Romance
Series: Puffin Island #1Windswept, isolated and ruggedly beautiful, Puffin Island is a haven for day-trippers and daydreamers alike. But this charming community has a way of bringing people together in the most unexpected ways…
It’s been a summer of firsts for Emily Donovan. From becoming a stand-in mom to her niece, Lizzy, to arriving on Puffin Island, her life has become virtually unrecognizable. Between desperately safeguarding Lizzy and her overwhelming fear of the ocean—which surrounds her everywhere she goes!—Emily has lost count of the number of “just breathe” pep talks she’s given herself. And that’s before charismatic local yacht club owner Ryan Cooper kisses her…
Ryan knows all about secrets. And it’s clear that newcomer Emily—with her haunted eyes and the little girl she won’t let out of her sight—is hiding from something besides the crazy chemistry between them. So Ryan decides he’s going to make it his personal mission to help her unwind and enjoy the sparks! But can Puffin Island work its magic on Emily and get her to take the biggest leap of trust of all—putting her heart in someone else’s hands?
Sarah says: It has the words “Sarah Morgan” on the cover. I’m in!
Also: I’m reading a LOT of backlist, which is not new release (though, as I’ve said before, every book is new to someone, and sometimes it’s me). So this month, instead of March 2015, I’m reading in October 2009, and maybe 2001? I’m not sure.

So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed
Author: Jon Ronson
Released: March 31, 2015 by Riverhead Books
Genre: NonfictionFrom the internationally bestselling author of The Psychopath Test, a captivating and brilliant exploration of one of our world’s most overlooked forces.
For the past three years, Jon Ronson has been immersing himself in the world of modern-day public shaming—meeting famous shamees, shamers, and bystanders who have been impacted. This is the perfect time for a modern-day Scarlet Letter—a radically empathetic book about public shaming, and about shaming as a form of social control. It has become such a big part of our lives it has begun to feel weird and empty when there isn’t anyone to be furious about. Whole careers are being ruined by one mistake. A transgression is revealed. Our collective outrage at it has the force of a hurricane. Then we all quickly forget about it and move on to the next one, and it doesn’t cross our minds to wonder if the shamed person is okay or in ruins. What’s it doing to them? What’s it doing to us?
Ronson’s book is a powerful, funny, unique, and very humane dispatch from the frontline, in the escalating war on human nature and its flaws.
Amanda says: I love Jon Ronson’s nonfiction works, especially The Psychopath Test.

Laura Lippman has a new Tess Monaghan mystery out this month. It has been years since Lippman’s last Tess Monaghan novel and I am considering indulging myself by re-reading the entire series before reading this new book.
I find romance series much easier to wait for because siblings and colleagues form the links from book to book. If years pass waiting for the next book, I don’t fret about the series character because all the characters I have been introduced to have their HEA.
That’s an apt new logo, because March is just littered with new releases and I seem to want them all.
I have a long list over on Farts, but the ones I’m really looking forward to are the new Patricia Briggs, Dead Heat, in the Alpha and Omega series, and Vision in Silver, an Others novel, by Anne Bishop.
And T-rex! The author has two chapters up on her site, and it’s been very hard to wait. Also Kylie Scott has the fourth Stage Dive novel coming out, this one about the drummer Ben.
I may never emerge from my TBR pile!
Is it Tuesday yet? Is it? How about now? I’m impatiently awaiting Dead Heat>/i> and Vision in Silver—in that reading and listening order. (I need to finish reading DH before I start listening to VIS—it won’t do to mix the experiences what with the worldbuilding being so strong.)(Audible says 1 day and 17 hours till scheduled release.)
Note to self: check HTML before submitting! *headdesk*
Aw, jeez whiz. New books. Too little time. Drool over, wonderful tempting books. Binge reading. So what do I say–I love you or I hate you?
This will be an expensive month – I just hope I find the time to read all the books I am waiting for:
– Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop
– Deep by Kylie Scott
– Soaring by Kristin Ashley
– The Shadows by J.R. Ward
– The Virgin by Tiffany Reisz
I pre-ordered the Singh and Carriger books forever ago. Now that you’ve reminided me, I’m starting to get the DTs again. And then you add in a matchmaker/FBI agent, and a scorned divorcee? I owe my soul to the Amazon store.
Infinity Bell (House Immortal, 2) by Devon Monk. Boy, do I love this series.
Pocket Apocalypse (InCryptid, Book Four) by Seanan McGuire
Shadow Scale (Seraphina, 2) by Rachel Hartman
I’m looking forward to the new Sebastian St. Cyr book by CS Harris, “Who Buries the Dead,” out Tuesday, and Julie Anne Long’s “It Started With a Scandal,” out March 31.
Can’t wait for the new Sebastian St. Cyr book by CS Harris, “Who Buries the Dead,” – have gulped down the entire backlist since coming across the recommendation in the Historical Mysteries thread.
Bec McMaster’s Of Silk and Steam – the last in the series *sob*
Nalini Singh’s because it is Nalini – would read her shopping list! 😀
I too am looking forward to Anne Calhoun’s “The List” – I’ve read all her books, and they are reliably amazing. Though it’s not my normal reading material, I picked up Anne Bishop’s “Written in Red” when it was on sale (and highly recommended) and devoured it right away (no pun intended), and am nearly finished the second. I’m looking forward to the third book in the series, “Visions in Silver,” out this month. I’ve also ordered Julianna Keyes’ “Time Served,” which Jane mentioned on Twitter some time ago, and more recently in your podcast. I need some more “hot-smart” romance, and her books fit the bill.
First: I hate hard sell on dates. When I pre-ordered my copy of Vision in Silver a couple of weeks ago they had it but couldn’t sell it. *cries *
Second: So many books out this month.
Third: I wish I hadn’t stopped reviewing since I really want that Nalini Singh novel.
I have ‘Dead Heat’ and ‘Pocket Apocalypse’ on pre-order. I’m not super-keen on the main characters in ‘Pocket Apocalypse’, but I’m hoping this one will tide me over until I get a book on the deadly baby sister of the Price family. As for the ‘Alpha and Omega’ series… they’re my favourite long-running series about a married couple at the moment. I don’t know why I love Anna and Charles and their dynamic so much, but I do.
I just finished the latest Tess Monaghan. I started reading the series when I was a college rower because it’s actually surprisingly hard to find decent novels featuring women who row in their spare time. (Crime and paranormal heroines all seem to run for miles and do martial arts, but none of them hit the water, and after a promising start with demons lurking on rafts on the Isis, the heroine of ‘A Discovery of Witches’ went straight into Mary Sue territory for me.) Ironically, I don’t row any more because I’m at home with small children, and this latest novel – in which Tess isn’t rowing because she has a demanding small child – made me wistful for a number of reasons.
I pre-ordered Before I Fall by Jessica Scott and Heartbreak Cove by Lily Everett, both to arrive on Tuesday. I may not get much sleep this week, as there are a couple of historicals in my TBR file I am dying to read. Also pre-ordered the new Eloisa James and now I want to read The Bedding Proposal. Perfect logo! Maybe I’ll consider it a warning sign the next time I see it.
Can’t wait for the new Anne Calhoun book!
I am SO EXCITED for Rock Hard it’s not even funny!! I’m so glad Charlie & T-Rex get a full length novel and not a novella.
I didn’t realize the next Alpha & Omega book was coming out so soon – crap! I’m a couple books behind in the Mercy series and I heard you need to be caught up on that to avoid spoilers in the A&O book. Looks like I need to add a few more to the TBR pile.
Tam – You’re probably already aware of this, but Maxwell of David Baldacci’s “King and Maxwell” series is a female rower (and ex-Secret Service crime stopper).
I preordered Of Silk And Steam and I *never* preorder. Love this series. I really want that Alpha & Omega book too, and then the latest Chloe Neill will be out… They can’t stage an intervention if you run fast, right?
Thalia… really?
The Unleashing by Shelly Laurenston!
OMG! How did I not know there was going to be a new Bec McMaster book coming out this month???? I love, love, LOVE this series so stinkin’ much!
Dead Heat and Visions in Silver.. checking every 2 minutes trying to figure out when Amazon considers it the 3rd of March when it’s been the 3rd for 16 hours here!!!! And the Unleashing later this month. Preordered e-books are a lovely surprise except when you’re dying for them to arrive:)
I just can’t take the first title seriously – I only heard Anna from Frozen singing the whole time I read the description. And yes, I DO love the logo. I thought that before I even opened the post. May Antwon Dodson never be forgotten. 😉
[…] releases: Fiction Vixen (UF/romance), Smart Bitches (romance), and Tor.com […]
I INHALED Infinity Bell (House Immortal, 2) by Devon Monk,Pocket Apocalypse (InCryptid, Book Four) by Seanan McGuire, and Vision in Silver (The Others, Book 3) last weekend. All of them were excellent!
