Brazil's Centre-South sells 1.5bn litres of hydrous ethanol in Feb Biofuel ethanol

Brazil's Centre-South hydrous ethanol producers sold domestically 1.54 billion litres (406.8 million gallons) for February, of which 740.85 million in the last 15 days.

Anhydrous ethanol sales reached a total of 737.60 million litres, local sugarcane industry association Unica announced on Wednesday.

In all, the country sold 2.40 billion litres of ethanol in February, of which 2.28 billion on the domestic market, while 120.79 million litres were exported. According to the organisation, the latter figure represents an yearly increase of 41.40%.

The region's plants produced 105.93 million litres in the second half of February, with corn ethanol responsible for 83.77 million litres. The overall ethanol production since the beginning of the harvest and up until March 1, reached 32.55 billion litres, of which 9.87 billion were anhydrous and 22.68 billion hydrous, Unica noted.
