A 33-year veteran of the Denver police force was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Commerce City on suspicion of domestic violence and charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault, electronic court records show.

Todd Parro, 54, was arrested by police in Commerce City at about 3:30 p.m. on the 11500 block of Chambers Drive.

Commerce City police arrested him after responding to a report of domestic violence in the area.

Parro was released on bail following a brief hearing Wednesday, records show. He is due for arraignment in Adams County court Friday.

“No additional information is available at this time,” police in Commerce City said of the arrest.

Denver police said Parro will be assigned to a non-line assignment pending an investigation by police in Commerce City.
