The road to Southern Women's Tennis' unprecedented sixth consecutive Southwestern Athletic Conference title begins Friday at the 2015 SWAC East/West Round Up I in Jackson, Miss.

Southern opens the SWAC East/West Round Up I, which is the first of two multi-day, round-robin tennis event, against Grambling State Friday morning at 9 a.m. before a 2 p.m. match against Alabama A&M. On Saturday, the Lady Jaguars return to the courts to face Alcorn State at 9 a.m. then battles Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 2 p.m.

Three of the Lady Jaguars' four matches are set to take place at the Courthouse Raquet and Fitness Center, 46 Northtown Drive. Southern's round up finale against UAPB is scheduled for a 2 p.m. first serve at the Jackson State University Tennis Courts, 32 Walter Payton Drive.

Darnesha Moore and Gabrielle Moore leads the Lady Jaguars, each securing two victories in single play on a team that is 8-26 overall in singles matches. Sophomore Darneshia Moore, who is 2-5 overall, has held strong at the No. 2 position with a 2-2 record. Senior Gabrielle Moore is 2-3 at the No. 3 position and 2-4 overall. Camara Davis, Amanda Materre and Laura Syori each have one singles match win on their ledger.

Southern narrowly missed out on its second non-conference win of 2015 as UNO edge the Lady Jaguars 4-3 in New Orleans on last Saturday. Despite losing the doubles points, Southern secured wins in three singles matches as Camara Davis, Darnesha Moore and Gabrielle Moore each picked wins at No. 2, 3 and 5 singles positions. The Lady Jaguars defeated McNeese State 4-3 in the 2015 opener before losing its next six matches.

Following the SWAC Round Up, head coach Jeff Conyers and the Lady Jaguars return to Baton Rouge to host Southeastern Mar. 5 at University Courts.
