Job summary

This is an exciting and new role within Medicine and Emergency Care Business Unit to provide high level secretarial support to the senior management team. Working in cooperation with Operational Services Managers, General Managers & Deputy Directors. The role will be based at North Tyneside General Hospital, but the successful post holder will be required to support all sites across the trust as and when required.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide management of all secretarial and administrative staff within the Medicine Management Team including efficient diary management and co-ordination, preparation and arranging of meetings, minute taking and post meeting follow-up actions.
  • To provide comprehensive secretarial service and administrative support to the senior management team, which comprises of General Managers and Deputy Directors within the Medicine and Emergency Care Business Unit.
  • Maintain a robust project and business plan database to enable tracking of all development, actions and updates.
  • Undertakes the management of projects and gathers information and/or undertakes enquiries.
  • To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

  • Advanced diploma and/or significant equivalent experience in an administrative post.
  • Knowledge of the full range of administrative and organisational policies and procedures, acquired through training and relevant experience to degree level or equivalent
  • The required level of knowledge and specialist expertise will have been gained through a combination of theoretical study and experience at a senior secretarial level.
  • Significant administrative experience and experience of line managing a team working at a senior level.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the English language proficiency level required for this post

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience of Digital Dictation and Voice Recognition package.
  • Experience in NHS environment
