Our club was a true rabble when Bluey took over as head coach, he left it in much better shape.

He is a true Bulldog legend who will be sadly missed.

I just saw the news. I loved Bluey as a player and as our coach. He was a giant in so many ways. He saved us after the Royce Hart disaster and for that I will be always grateful. I am truly saddened by this news.

Bluey was a heart and soul player for this club, wasn’t great by any standards but what he lacked in skills he made up with his presence and endeavour.

RIP Bluey. Never forget a plane ride back from watching us play in Sydney as a young kid with my mate and my mum and we were on the same flight as the players. My mate and I were walking up and down the aisle with our autograph books and when my mate was talking to Bluey he pulled out and gave him his number 1 guernsey...I was devastated, my mum paid for the trip and he got a guernsey! A true gentleman.
