HBO, 20th Century Fox TV and FX Productions led the studio tally in this year’s Emmy derby.
HBO was the producer behind all 94 programs that garnered nominations for the pay cabler this year, anchored by the 23 bids grabbed by “Game of Thrones.” FX’s “People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” ran a close second with 22 noms.
Those 22 entries for “People V. O.J.” boosted 20th Century Fox TV and its subsidiary, Fox 21 TV Studios, to second place in the Game of Studios, with 53 total bids. FX Productions followed with 47, nearly double the wing’s 2015 haul.
