Spotlight: Minot

The Magic City is living up to its moniker

Minot downtown

Minot is best known as the home of the annual Norsk Hostfest and the North Dakota State Fair. But the city has much more in the way of attractions and events.

Dakota Territory Air Museum

Visitors can see the latest in aerial might at the Minot Air Force Base or check out the air planes of days gone by at the Dakota Territory Air Museum. Auto racing enthusiasts can feed their adrenaline rushes at Magic City International Dragway or Nodak Speedway, while golfers have their picks of several courses such as the Vardon Golf Club, and for kids just starting out the Jack Hoeven Wee Links.

Kids will also be interested in Roosevelt Park Zoo and Splash Down Water Park at Sleep Inn and Suites.

Don't visit Minot without strolling through the Scandinavian Heritage Park, which features a number of items from Scandinavian countries, like a Swedish Dala Horse, Stabbur house, Gol Stave church and more.

Minot has enough fine and unique dining to please any palate. Downtown's Charlie's Main Street Cafe is Minot's oldest restaurant and serves up one of the best hot beef sandwiches in North Dakota.
