Watch Natalie Dormer's head get shaved for 'Mockingjay'

In Suzanne Collins’ book Mockingjay, Cressida, the documentary filmmaker who works with Katniss on anti-Capitol propaganda, is physically described as “a woman with a shaved head tattooed with green vines.” Though that might sound pretty clean-cut (pun intended), Mockingjay Part 1 director Francis Lawrence and Natalie Dormer (of Game of Thrones fame) decided to take some artistic license with the character’s look. After seeing the peacockish fashions of the opulent Capitol population in the first two films, there seemed to be creative opportunities to make Dormer’s character even more edgy. And what’s more punk-rock than shaving a woman’s head? Shaving only half her head.

In this exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the upcoming home-video release, Dormer sits and smiles through the scalping she had to endure to play the character.

Mockingjay Part 1 becomes available digitally on Feb. 17, before being released on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD on March 6.
