Emory inks deal to (finally) redevelop former P. Diddy eatery

6,500 square foot building to become primary, specialty clinic

Big, green construction fencing has sprung up recently around what was formerly Justin’s — the longstanding Puff Daddy/Puffy/Diddy/P. Diddy/Sean Combs restaurant — leading passersby to wonder if something is finally happening with the property.

As it turns out, the rapper’s former restaurant and bar at 2200 Peachtree Road is soon to become a branch of Emory Healthcare, according to a news release from Coro Realty Advisors announcing the lease agreement.

"We were looking for a longterm tenant that would fit the needs of the area and community," said Coro Realty Vice President Patti Pearlberg. "We believe Emory is the perfect tenant for this location and we are very pleased we were able to come to an agreement with Emory Healthcare for their new facility."

2200 Peachtree, located at the intersection of Peachtree Road and Colonial Homes Drive, includes two freestanding facilities — the 6,500 square foot building leased to Emory and a Wells Fargo branch — which extended its lease as part of the transaction.

According to the news release, Emory will open its doors by end of year and focus on primary and specialty care. But first, a total overhaul is anticipated.

Change will probably be welcome at the long-fallow site. Puff Daddy/Puffy/Diddy/P. Diddy/Sean Combs closed the venture more than four years ago — after 14 years in business in Atlanta.
