You wouldn't want to walk under that! Builders put portable toilet on the first floor of scaffolding over pavement

Pedestrians might take care when walking near a building site - but anyone walking under this stretch of scaffolding should be extra careful.

Builders have installed a portable toilet on boards suspended just feet above the pavement - alarmingly close to the heads of passers-by.

It was installed by a team working on a property in Woodbridge, Suffolk, who needed to find a creative way around the lack of space on site.

With no room for the portable toilet on the street - and parking charges at a premium - the team decided to install it on the first floor of scaffolding.

Now it sits feet above the pavement on boards that run the length of the work area - and sits directly outside one of the property's first-floor windows.

David Houchell, whose local building firm is carrying out the work, said: 'We couldn't get it through the building - and with car parking at a premium we had to put it there.

'It's an unusual sight. People have said I must be going up in the world!'
