The Holiday season is quickly coming upon us, which means it’s time to start thinking about prepping your home for holiday visitors.

Cleaning your house for guests and preparing to cook a large meal are the main staples of Thanksgiving (besides giving thanks, of course). The number of things you have to do to get ready can seem overwhelming.

That’s why we’re here to help you out. Here’s a useful Thanksgiving cleaning checklist to help you get sorted out before your holiday visitors arrive!

– Thanksgiving Cleaning Checklist –

Decorate

As soon as November hits, it’s time to break out your fall decorations and spread the cheer throughout your home. It makes sense to decorate for Thanksgiving as soon as Halloween is over so your decorations get their time in the spotlight before the Christmas season arrives.

Wash Up

Easily forgotten, but very important is to make sure your tableware and linen are cleaned and prepped. Get these tabletop pieces washed and ready so when the day arrives, you simply set it all out for your guests.

Tidy Up

Start cleaning your guest rooms if you’ll have people staying over. Another thing, make sure to organize a space for visitors to put shoes, umbrellas, and jackets too.

Most importantly, don’t forget to clean the bathrooms since this is one room that will likely experience high traffic whether or not your guests are staying over.

Organize The Kitchen

Your kitchen will be experiencing heavy use to prepare a Thanksgiving meal. For that reason, clear enough space so you have room to work!

Another tip, it may be useful to pull out all the baking trays and ingredients you will use for the big meal so everything is conveniently accessible.

Even more important, make sure your refrigerator has room for all the leftovers you will have.

Gather Ingredients

Prepping Your Home For Holiday Visitors

Pick up dried and canned goods that will keep well on your shelf during your November grocery shopping trips.

Above all, keep a list of all the ingredients you will need for each dish and make sure to cross them off as you buy them. Without a list, you run the risk of forgetting something important!

With so many dishes to make and things to do for prepping your home for holiday visitors, the list of tasks can seem huge!
