Mazza Innovation Earns GMP Registration for Botanical Extraction Facility

16 Sep 2016 --- Mazza Innovation Ltd. has announced that its Delta, British Columbia botanical extraction facility is now a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) facility registered by NSF International. Mazza’s facility produces high-quality, clean-label botanical extracts for health, nutrition, beauty and personal care products using its award-winning PhytoClean water-based extraction method.

Mazza’s process is a significant quality and earth-friendly advance beyond current industry solvent-based extraction technologies, and the company has already achieved organic certification under the U.S., Canadian, European and Japanese organic regimes.

Earning GMP registration from NSF International verifies that Mazza’s botanical extract production facility has the proper methods, equipment, facilities and controls in place for producing dietary supplement ingredients at a consistently high level of quality. NSF’s certification parameters were developed in accordance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) 21 CFR part 111 regulations for the manufacturing, packaging and distribution of dietary supplements. Utilizing GMP guidelines assists companies to develop and maintain proper controls in their manufacturing processes so that products are manufactured and labelled in a consistent manner while meeting quality standards.

The PhytoClean Method water-based extraction process purifies and concentrates bioactives by pressurizing water at moderate temperatures; this greatly increases the water’s ability to solubilize bioactive compounds.
