Tennessee Winter Beer Festival | February 21st, 2015

It’s a cold miserable Tennessee winter and you are tired of being cooped up in your basement with your craft beer stash running low.  What to do? What to do?  Well we here at the KnoxBeerSnobs have the perfect solution to ease your woes.  Grab your piggy bank, smash it with that empty bottle of Pliney and dig out $60 bucks for an all you care to drink/eat extravaganza.

Yep, it’s Tennessee Winter Beer Fest time once again in Townsend, TN.  This is the 4th annual BeerFest with last year, thanks to your help, we were able to cut a check for 8G’s to New Hope Blount CountyBCCAC_logo_kids Childrens Advocacy Center who restores New Hope to abused children and their families. It only takes one visit to this fantastic establishment for you to gladly give all that you can, even though we wish there was not a need for such a place.  Back to the festival!

This year we well be having the event at The Heartland Little River Wedding Chapel (7765 River Road Townsend, TN. 37882).  Just head up 321 toward the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains and look to your left for the bigass (this may be trademarked, apologies if so – it’s for the kids) tent where you will enjoy beer and fantastic food along with 300 other craft beer lovers.  While it’s not Laurel Valley,  I believe this change will create more of a wider social atmosphere by having everyone in one central location as well as making it easier to locate your favorite brewer.  Food will be prepared with much love by Miss Lily’s Cafe and I have to say they put on one belly satisfying show which is all you can eat by the way so come hungry.   Make sure you stop by wedding chapel to see me (snob Don) and the silent auction items.  We have collected some very cool items and rare beers for you to bid on.  This year we have a special bidding item.  For the last year and a half I have been growing my hair out for Locks of Love.  What I am prepared to do is enter my hair into the bidding fray and the winner will chop it off, center stage, at the festival, for a never been done before fiasco.  The result is a double donation, one to help children suffering from abuse and one to children suffering from long term hair loss due to disease.  There will be a bit of a difference to the bidding rules on this one so read the description carefully.  Man, who would not want to be a part of this level of giving?!

The brewer lineup is pretty awesome and includes,  Calfkiller, Yazoo, Depot Street, Blue Tick Brewery, Saw Works Brewing Company, Blackhorse Brewery, Chattanooga Brewing Company, Black Abbey, Tennessee Brew Works and Holston River Brewing Company! Music will also be provided by Jay Clark, the Appalachian Surf Team and the Dirty Dougs.

I could go on forever on all that this festival has to offer but the best thing to do is head to the website here to check out other important information such as brewer lineup, directions, parking (no onsite parking), free shuttles offered from our friends at Knox Brew Tours (so no driving) and hotels offering discounts to festival goers.  What a way to spend a weekend so grab your friends, get some tickets, book a room and have a blast.

PROST!!!
