2021 Power Up Out-of-School Summit Youth Keynote Speaker
The Idaho Out-of-School Network is seeking applications from Idaho youth that have been positively impacted through participating in an out-of-school program. Out-of-school programs may be one that was attended regularly afterschool, weekly, camp style, internship, online, or a blend of these; if you accessed the program outside of the traditional school day or classroom we consider it an out-of-school program.
Our selected speaker will address our attendees at the 8th annual statewide Power Up Summit on September 10, 2021. Travel & lodging will be covered for our youth speaker and a guardian/mentor.
Applicants must
1) Be enrolled in school, grades 6th through 12th or currently pursuing post-secondary education (technical, college or university),
2) Enjoy public speaking and able/willing to address a large audience (160+ people)
3) Agree to prepare an inspiring 10 minute presentation on their out-of-school experience (presentations do not need to just be a speech, they can be interactive, include a demonstration of what they learned in their program or can include a short videos of their story). We will provide a mentor that will help speakers prepare their speech.
4) Have permission from their legal guardian to present (only if applicant is under the age of 18)
Deadline May 31st, 2021, 5 pm (your local time).
This application is designed to be completed by the potential speaker (guidance from guardians/mentors welcomed/encouraged).
