Tourism Draft Amendment Bill - Notice 235 of 2019
In keeping with the values and foundations of an open, accountable government in a participatory democracy, the Minister of Tourism, Derek Hanekom, published the Tourism Amendment Draft Bill for public comment today for 60 days to provide tourism stakeholders and citizens with sufficient time to engage with and to comment on the Draft Bill.

The Tourism Act, 2014 remains the legislative framework for the management and growth of tourism. It aims for the development and promotion of sustainable tourism for the benefit of the country and the enjoyment of its citizens and visitors. 1. to provide for the alignment of the governance of the South African Tourism Board,
  2. to provide for the implementation of the grading system of South African Tourism;
  3. to provide for the competence requirements of tourists guides; and
  4. to provide for the determination on the threshold for short-term dwelling rentals.
