I always enjoy seeing Arsenio Hall standing with his finger to his temple describing things that make you say “hmmmmm.”

If he had any interest in turning his focus to the real estate arena, here are some situations he might be asking about.

About that mess in the kitchen…. Oh, Oh, Oh.

So my friend was looking for a place for his mom, in an affordable neighborhood, and he sent me the link to check it out. Dude, would you take your mother to look at a house with a kitchen with all these dishes in the sink, cereal boxes dumped on the counter, and yesterday’s dinner dishes still stacked on the table? Makes you want to say “hmmmmm.”

About that toilet….

So I was looking through the marketing photos for this house in a neighborhood I was interested in, and the second shot was of the master bathroom, and a toilet with the seat up and yellow water inside is the main item in the picture. Is that a special cleansing solution? Does that specific color improve Feng Shui? Makes you want to say “hmmmmm.”

About that Christmas tree….

So we’re in February, right? I was just looking around at places for sale in my neighborhood and here’s this guy with his Christmas tree and wreaths and garland and stuff still up, with the stocking hung from the mantle, the wreaths hung above, and a 10-foot, fully lit and decorated Christmas tree. In February.

If your house hasn’t sold since you listed it for sale during the Holidays, wouldn’t now be a good time to have the photographer come back around? Unless those decorations are still up? Makes you want to say “hmmmmm.”

About the asking price….

Whoa. What just happened down there in Orange County. Seriously? This just passed my radar, because I am always interested in anything with an ocean view.

Check out these specs: Almost 19,000 square feet – that’s close to a half an acre of house – with eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms. Would you not get lost in there? Pictures show the pool melding with the Pacific Ocean at twilight.

Wait. It originally listed for $35 million and sold for cash for $23 million. Yes it says cash. How do you get a 34 percent discount on a beach house? Makes you want to say “hmmmmm.”
