It's the most wonderful time of the year, except for some people. You see we all take so many things for granted in life especially around the holidays. I say that because while kids are upset because they didn't get the right color iPhone (yes I see those videos on the internet) there are kids that may not even get Christmas presents because their parents have to get food!

That is why it is important for this holiday season to give back; so many families wish that they could give their kids a good Christmas but sometimes they can't. imagine how hard it is to explain to your kid that Santa may not be able to give you much this year because they have been laid off. So take some time and give back this holiday season. Don't know where to start? I'll give you a few suggestions in this article!

This year, I am doing Operation Christmas Child, it's where we pack a shoebox filled with toys and other items and it often gets sent to a child in a third world country. I bought so many items I had to make a second shoebox for another kid. It is an amazing organization and I encourage all of you to get involved in it! It is not too late see the link at the end for more information.

I also encourage you guys to volunteer at a local soup kitchen and take your kids there so that they can see how good they have it. If you are interested in volunteering at a local soup kitchen or homeless shelter look up where they are located in your area.

Also, children's hospitals are a great place to give back for the holidays, there are kids that can't even go home for Christmas because they are too sick. So send them some nice Christmas cards, put together a toy drive, volunteer at a Ronald McDonald House they are an amazing organization that helps families whose kids are battling life-threatening illnesses, and I encourage you all to volunteer there at some point in your lives! Also, take a little bit of change and drop it into a bell-ringing Santas bucket, its all for a good cause and they will really appreciate it!

Whatever you do to make a difference, make sure that you are making one, hopefully, it makes you guys realize how good you have it, and your kids realize it too. We all take too many things for granted we often forget that there are people out there that have it way worse than you guys do! It also is important this season to put smiles on peoples faces because no one deserves to be unhappy during the holidays!
