What to do in Orlando if it rains?

February 5, 2016

Coming to Florida, the sunshine state, most people expect to see SUNSHINE, right? Well, most days in Orlando are sunny, or at least partially sunny, even in the winter, so there is not much reason to fear missing out on a sunshine vacation!  If you are coming to visit for a few days you can rest assured that the sun will shine for you.

But we would like to point out that when a rainy day comes, you can also enjoy Orlando just as much! During summer we have the usual afternoon showers, so for those quick minutes of rain we suggest that you just embrace it! After all, it can be quite refreshing to enjoy some rain when it’s 100 degrees outside.

But if you happen to catch a rare rainy day, here are some of the fun places we suggest you try:

  • Go bowling at Splitsville, which is located in Disney Springs, less than two miles from our resort. The bowling lanes are luxurious, the whole place is modern and upbeat and the food is absolutely delicious.

  • Watch a comedy show at Improv. You must be 21 to get in. Check out their website for a list of upcoming comedians.
  • Try an Escape Room. Check this blog post for more details on that.

  • Go indoor sky diving at iFly. This is a unique experience that you won’t regret taking! And don’t worry, you don’t have to have any prior “flying experience” to join in this adventure.  Every package at iFly includes a pre-flight training session, all the necessary flight gear (suit, helmet, goggles), friendly instruction from a certified flight guide, and a personalized post-flight certificate. The flying tunnel has a viewing area where family and friends can watch from and take pictures and videos, but we suggest you make this a family activity as it’s fun for all ages!
