WITHOUT APOLOGY: HOW TO REVIVE A MOVEMENT!

WBAI IS BACK! and bringing you the programs you won't get elsewhere! Please help us stay on the air as a  locally controlled, and listener-sponsored radio station by supporting our current fund drive.

Joy of Resistance: Multicultural Feminist Radio @ WBAI is WBAI's dedicated feminist radio show. It represents and reports on the movement that has changed the lives of women in the U.S. and around the world--a movement always on the front lines of struggle. We report from those front lines--bringing you in-depth coverage of its history, theory, actions, effects and controversies.

Our guests this Monday, November 25 will be:

Jessica Mason Pieklo--is the interim president and editor in chief for Rewire.News, where she has served as Vice President, Law and the Courts, overseeing legal reporting and analysis and is the co-host of Rewire.News’ podcast Boom! Lawyered. Jessica has over a decade of experience as a former litigator, and taught law for four years before transitioning to journalism.

She will give us one of her priceless "law reviews in plain language" (which have appeared periodically on Joy of Resistance over the years) and which will focus on the current stacking of the Federal Court System with Trump appointees and the effect this will have for all of our futures. She will also talk about what we can still do to stop it.

Jenny Brown--has witten a just-released book: Without Apology: The Abortion Struggle Now. It has been called "an indispensable guide to building a fighting feminist movement for reproductive freedom" and a "laser-sharp polemic" (Publisher's Weekly). Its subject is the hidden history of the abortion rights (and feminist) movement and how we can stop being on the defensive and start making gains again against the right wing juggernaut. We will discuss this groundbreaking new book with Brown and offer the book to listeners as a gift, when they contribute to WBAI.

About Jenny Brown: Brown was a leader in the fight to get the abortion pill over the counter in the U.S. and a plaintiff in the winning lawsuit. She co-authored the Redstockings book: Women's Liberation and National Health Care: Confronting the Myth of America. While Editor at Labor Notes Magazine, she co-authored How to Jump Start Your Union: Lessons from the Chicago Teachers. She writes, teaches and organizes with the feminist group National Women's Liberation and is the author of Birth Strike: The Hidden Fight Over Women's Work, published earlier this year (which we are also offering listeners who donate to WBAI).

We will also present JOR's Worldwide Feminist News Update and play some kick-ass feminist music!
