Oahu is one of the most popular destinations in the world, and offers travelers endless opportunities to experience why Oahu is known as the “gathering isle”. The Southern shore of Oahu is known for resort life, full of luxury lodging, world-class beaches, and some of the more famous landmarks on the island. For a more private and less developed experience, check out the North Shore and windward side of the island, where the beaches are less crowded and a more authentic Hawaiian vacation can be achieved. Out of the many activities available, we have compiled our Top 3 must see Oahu experiences.

  • Pearl Harbor Visitors’ Center allows people to experience the events of December 7, 1941 by offering an in-depth look into our country’s history; boats can also be taken out to view the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial.
  • The Polynesian Cultural Center offers education with a twist, teaching guests of Hawaii about the six main South Pacific cultures: Tonga, Tahiti, Marquesas, Hawaii, Fiji, Aotearoa (New Zealand), and Samoa.  Guests can experience these cultures through canoe tours, bus tours, iMax shows, and hands-on exploration.
  • The Waimea Beach Park is a true Hawaiian classic, located on the North Shore in an easy to find location. This beach offers plenty of sand to spread out, no reefs or submerged rocks, and some of the bluest water in all of Hawaii. With calm waters perfect for swimming in the summer, and colossal waves in the winter for surfing, this beach is the best of both worlds.
