The Economic Development Advisory Committee's (EDAC) provides recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on issues related to local economic growth and development, including but not limited to support for local businesses, efforts to increase tourism, strategies to encourage residents to shop local, and research into opportunities for grant funding.

The EDAC consists of seven (7) Nolensville residents or business owners, who are appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The meetings are held the fourth Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m.

Economic Development Advisory Committee 2021-2022 Accomplishments

  • Developed a business directory including contact information for the majority of small businesses in Nolensville.  This directory is used by our committee and Town Staff to communicate town initiatives and encourage participation.
  • Launched a quarterly small business workshop series to educate local businesses on relevant topics such as social media, sales, hiring strategy, etc.
  • Developed strategic relationships with Visit Franklin and Williamson Inc. that have opened opportunities for the town through consistent ongoing communication
  • Secured a complimentary tourism program platform, valued at $7500, to offer a local passport program in Q3/Q4 2022.
  • Worked in conjunction with other committees in recruiting participants for our first holiday photo stop promotion, which included over 25 participants
