US Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps

The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps is the only unit of its kind in the armed forces, and is part of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard). The Fife and Drum Corps is stationed at Fort Myer, VA.

The musicians of this unit recall the days of the American Revolution as they perform in uniforms patterned after those worn by the musicians of General George Washington's Continental Army. Military musicians of the period wore the reverse colors of the regiments to which they were assigned. The uniforms worn by the members of the Corps are dated circa 1784, and consist of black tricorn hats, white wigs, waistcoats, colonial coveralls, and distinct red regimental coats.

US 1st Marine Division Band

Consisting of approximately 50 Marine musicians, the mission of the 1st Marine Division Band is to provide musical support to the 1st Marine Division as well as other tenant commands aboard Camp Pendleton, the surrounding community, and throughout the United States. The band fulfills numerous musical requirements by performing as a military marching band, wind ensemble, jazz band, popular music group, jazz combo, brass band, woodwind quintet, brass quintet, and saxophone quartet. Overall, the band supports over 400 engagements annually. Past highlights include: the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, the State Funeral for President Ford, the Tournament of Roses Parade, annual performances at the Center for the Performing arts, in Escondido, California, the Swallow’s Day Parade in San Juan Capistrano, and most recently, the Disney Magic Music Days in Downtown Disney and San Francisco Fleet Week. All Marine Corps Bands preserve the values that comprise the unique and fundamental national character of the United States. Whether performing music or serving in a combat zone, the 1st Marine Division Band carries on this esteemed tradition and remains the “Pride of the Division.”

Since 1996 Texas Camel Corps

has been sharing the little-known story of the 19th  century US military use of camels as pack animals in the desert Southwest. Today the modern “corps”, consisting of reenactor soldiers and live camels, maintains an annualcalendar of events that takes their caravan from Arizona to Mississippi and

across Texas, where this story began in 1856. The National Park Service, Texas Historical Commission, numerous schools, libraries, museums, and historical sites keep Texas Camel Corps busy and owner/founder Doug Baum has even lectured on this unique bit of history as far away as the United Kingdom and Kazakhstan

The U.S. Air Force Academy Cadet Honor Guard

A prestigious cadet unit, drawing less than 2 percent of the cadet wing as its members. Steeped in tradition, the Cadet Honor Guard was founded in 1974 primarily to function as an exhibition drill unit. Since then, it has expanded its mission to perform such details as color guard, flag details, and funeral honors, with the intent of honoring past and present cadets, graduates, and service members.

The Longs Peak Scottish Irish Highland Festival has been a highlight of September in Estes Park for 48 years; with Celtic Music, Ethnic Dancing, Bag Pipe Bands, Scottish Highland Athletics, representatives of many Clans.

In the early 1970's Estes Park was like most mountain towns relying on summer tourism with ended with Labor Day weekend.  47 years ago the festival's  founder, a resident of Estes Park, had a vision to extend the fall season to the valley.  He started this festival recognizing that September was a beautiful time for people to come to the mountains and with the perfect temperature, all that was needed was an event.  And the Longs Peak Scottish Irish Highland Festival came into being.  Over the years this Festival has become the most attended event in Estes Park.

Your support will allow us to continue to provide the culture experience in 2024 and forward into the future.
