The Nightlife #1-3 & Blood Slave

The Nightlife Series Omnibus

Rate this book
The Nightlife Series is violent, sexy, and occasionally violently sexy.
Vampires, strippers, escorts, night clubs, pimps & dirty cops – the Nightlife Series is never boring.

Can decadence, corruption and prostitution go hand in hand with self-control? Over-indulgence, illegal activity and vampires lurk in darkness when night falls on the city.

The Nightlife Series explores the sexy, dangerous misadventures of vampires and an interesting assortment of wickedly corrupt men and women of the night. Gangs, pimps, prostitutes, cartel, mafia, drug dealers, addicts, alcoholics, all those wonderfully colorful people you find rubbing elbows in the back alleys, night clubs, and strip joints.

These creatures inhabit a world of constant blood, sex, and arousal. The act of feeding is highly erotic, victims often experience multiple orgasms. A vampire’s bite is the most powerful drug imaginable, ecstasy, euphoria, and an ever-present potential for addiction. Lethally violent predators, they can cut through flesh like a hot knife through butter. They slip through the nightlife quietly, unobtrusively, until cornered. Then it gets ugly, people die.

The Nightlife Series includes:

THE NIGHTLIFE NEW YORK
THE NIGHTLIFE LAS VEGAS
THE NIGHTLIFE PARIS
BLOOD SLAVE

The Nightlife New York

4 stars

This was a great read about the dark world of vampires.
The plot was interesting and fast paced and kept me glued until the end.
I enjoyed the characters and the darker side to their growing relationship. They hit a lot of bumps along the way but managed to come out the other side stronger.
I'm looking forward to reading the next installment and seeing what mischief they can cause

The Nightlife Las Vegas

3 stars

Again a well written installment with an action packed, fast paced plot.
I hate to say it but I didnt like Ana, she was too needy and whiney for me and I couldn't connect with her character. Aaron and Michelle seemed to have drifted slightly in this one which was a bit of a surprise as the last ended with them confessing their love for eachother.

The Nightlife Paris

4.5 stars

I think this was my favourite book in the series so far. I loved the word building and the characters.
The plot was exciting and action packed. I enjoyed visiting Michelle's past, although heartbreaking. It was very well written and I couldn't put it down.
Definitely a surprising turn of events in this one, I was not expecting it at all and I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Blood Slave

4 stars

This was a great read. It has an interesting plot, a lot of heart pumping scenes, and it kept me glued from start to finish. I loved Hopes character, she had been through so much but she wouldn't give up, dare I say it...hope :) Enrique was a bit closed off, I would have liked to have seen more emotion from him.

Not many books reach my Wow shelf... Travis you have reached it twice!! I first read Blood Slave as part of a book of the month for one of my groups. As I read the book my mouth was permanently in a dropped jaw position as I devoured each page. I knew I had to read the rest of them. I had the wonderful opportunity through PNR NaUBA read to review. I jumped at the chance and I am oh so glad I did!!!

NIGHTLIFE NY, LA and Paris follow the lives of 2 vampires, Michelle and Aaron. They take us into the dark underworld of these fabulous cities. The things most of us don't want to think about let alone read. Many romance novels about vampires are similar in that they focus on a fantasy world regarding the vamps, their lives and mates. These stories are erotic, raw and touch on themes to real life that are well... Very real, abuse, molestation, sex rings, prostitution, drugs. Although classified under paranormal romance, I would call these dark erotic thrillers.

Blood Slave, although part of this Omnibus is a separate story to itself. You can read my review for that book here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

I guess its needless to say... I loved the books... 5 stars for well written characters, storyline and shock factor!!! I can maybe get some sleep now... No more pages to turn!!! :)

I received this book in exchange for an honest review R2R Lovers of Paranormal.

Let me start by saying i really did not know what to expect with this book. But i liked it alot.
At first i had some troubles with the feelings of Aaron. He is too easy manipulated by Michelle, and she definitely has issues. The only thing i really had troubles with (which i realised in the last book) was reading a book through a man's perspective. Also there was a lot of sex in the books, don't get me wrong don't mind it but i thought some scenes where unnecessary. I missed dept sometimes.

This totally changed in books 3 and 4.
Nightlife Paris caught my interest. I love the feel of the story, back in time. Stories about the war and jews and German. I am Dutch so we where in the middle of the war. It felt good how it was told. Also getting to know Michelle made the first two book better, put them more in perspective.

Book 4, Blood Slave was just the best of all the books. The craving and feeling. It sucked me right in. Read it in a day and would love to read more of these kind of books. A crazy bitch messing everything up, makes me want to read and read. Because your guts tell you not to trust her. A definite must read if you love paranormal (18+) book!

* I received this book from the author in exchange of a honest review on the Lovers of Paranormal group**

I originally read book one by Travis a while ago. I was so happy when I got my hands on all of the books. Travis is a amazing writer. His books are action-packed, and they will keep you on the edge of your seat. I will only review the overall series here. I will review the individual books, and go in depth about them later. I think my favorites would be a tossup between book one and book two. Book two was very intense, but I really liked it! This is not your average vampire book. It is sexy, but dark at the same time. Michelle and Eric were too amazing creatures that I just couldn't get enough of. The sex between them, was hot. Michelle is classy, but dangerous. She required attention, and she made sure she got it. Eric on the other hand, was a sexy male that commanded power. I am glad I got the chance to read this awesome series! If you are a fan of sexy and dangerous vampires, make sure to pick this book up and give it a read!

First I would like to thank the author, Travis Luedke, and Lovers of Paranormal (LoP) for the opportunity to read The Nightlife Series Omnibusfor my honest opinion.
Although I have yet to get to Blood Slavewhich is the fourth book in the Omnibus - I wanted to hold off on this review until I had a chance to read it. Since The Nightlife was a series I would like to focus on those three books.
The first word that I will can say is WOW! I think this is the first time I have read a book written by a man with so much sex in it and WOW was there sex. The first of the series started in:
NEW YORK
Aaron is your typical 22-year old man trying to make it work in New York City after losing his father and basically being kicked out of his house by his mother. He is working and making ends meet until one fateful evening he comes to the rescue of a beautiful female being harassed by undercover detectives. He is shot and dying. Michelle is a beautiful vampire who takes care of him and against her better judgment turns Aaron into a vampire to save his life. Aaron and Michelle's story is a beautiful story of master and servant where she does not want to repeat her past and falls in love with Aaron. I loved Aaron's acceptance of his new destiny and learning to become a vampire and all of Michelle's "rules"! It was a short story with some intrigue, danger, corrupt cops, love, sex, desire and Man Oh Man I was dreaming of just one bite from Aaron!
After running into problems in New York, Aaron and Michelle need to leave and decide to go to Las Vegas.
LAS VEGAS
While in Vegas Aaron thinks he has found his niche in life. He can read minds and this comes in very handy when playing the odds of Vegas and especially card games. I would like to again thank Travis Luedke for sharing some probably well known gambling techniques on how to "beat the odds". In Vegas Aaron runs into Anastasia (Ana) and falls for her and turns her into a bloodslave, one of Michelle's No-No Rules! Ana has problems of her own and although I was rooting for her to kick her habits and live happily ever after with Aaron and Michelle.
Once again the corruption that was in NY is also found in Vegas with drug lords, a crooked security officer and lots and lots of drugs. Again the sex did not disappoint with this story having even more action and suspense. As you guessed - they run into problems leaving bodies behind and flee to Michelle's home of Paris...
PARIS
Aaron and Michelle arrive in Paris - and find out Michelle's past and that she was born in 1919 and her "privileged" background, her master Julian turning her and his demented treatment of her and also the German occupation of France thru Michelle's eyes. I loved Michelle's story and felt for her and all that she has endured and what would have turned a typical person bad she has succeeded in my mind. Aaron however does not take her story as a testament of her endurance and survival and in a fit of anger leaves her. Michelle is attacked and their special bond is broken. Aaron in his grief of losing Michelle falls into the arms of an entity who I am hoping we will find out more about in future series. She helps Aaron meld his vampire side and his "predator" side.
This series end with Aaron again finding Michelle and the three leaving to I am assuming LONDON!
Can't wait for the next installment in this series!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review R2R Lovers of Paranormal.

Okay, LOVED the fact that all the books were in one, made it much easier to go through. First book NLNY was a bit slow at times and Aaron was a bit too much of a pushover for me, but I'm happy I kept reading. The books did get better, but there was a little too much sex at times. For me, too much sex makes me skip over parts. I like a little sex to my storyline, but in some parts it was nonstop. Maybe it's the prude coming out in me, LOL. If you like vamps, sex, and action this should be up your alley!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal). I enjoyed the book overall. It was a very quick paced story and kept me going trying to see what would happen next. Michelle was a very complex character. Aaron was such a kind character when he met Michelle. It was intriguing to watch his changes as time went on. Some of the support characters were wonderful, however a couple made my skin crawl. I will be looking to see if there is more in the series. It was interesting to read.

Well hello friends!

Today I have to share with you my reading experience for the Nightlife series. I read the omnibus copy so I got to read 4 books back to back. The great thing about this series is that Travis could have ended the series with any of these books and I would have been ok with that being the end. I say this not because I was over the characters and story by the end of the book, but because he did such a wonderful job with each ending. He has a great way of leaving you enough room to really be ok with that being the end but leaving himself room to grow the story. The other fantastic thing he does is manage to not make the characters dull over time, you never get tired of reading about these people. I feel it's only right to warn you that these books are in no way for the faint of heart. There is serious violence and intense sex but it all fits so perfectly with the world he has developed it doesn't at all seem out of place. Out of respect for your time fellow readers I'm going to keep my review of each book a little bit shorter since you are kind of getting four reviews for one.

New York... We meet our main characters in New York and our first taste of a different spin from the vampire books I've read lately. Poor Aaron is just trying to do the right thing and for his troubles get shot. Michelle does something she has sworn she'll never do and turns him. We find out a big chunk of Michelle's back story in book three but there are hints why she is so against turning someone. The world Travis takes us to is heavily drenched in sex and violence. We learn that a bite from these vampires is the purest form of ecstasy so once again guys the sex makes sense. Travis does a great job with his characters making them fun to follow for a few hours. In this mythology when you turn someone you kind of make them your lapdog if you want. The bond between sire and progeny is almost more like master slave, or has the potential to be if abused and it's really seem less the way we follow both Aaron and Michelle struggle with that power. Travis strikes a really great balance between the character story and the angst of the original attackers plot line. I'll say it right now I love Talco, he was so much fun. It was really great to see a different side of Aaron towards the end of the book as well.

Las Vegas... We meet up again with Aaron and Michelle right before Aaron takes a blood slave. A huge no-no as far as Michelle is concerned. Humans are cattle to her and one doesn't play with their food long term. When Michelle realizes there is no way to stop Aaron's decision she does decide to make it as easy as possible. Ana was such a wonderful addition to the story and really keeps us on our toes. The change in dynamic is really an refreshing twist on the characters we feel for already at this point. There is a heavy drug aspect that I'll be honest I was sure I was on board with. It totally makes sense for the story and maybe I was just too invested in these people when I started screaming at my kindle. We see more of the darker half of Aaron which is great but also sad since we have come to love the sweet caring side of him, but boy does it stay fresh. The mythology of this world is definitely opened up and it's so much fun to see Aaron growing along with Michelle. Her relationship with Ana was really interesting to me. The way the dynamic change between all the characters was so well done that you could really see people living this way, minus the bloodshed of course. And Travis sets up book three so well I couldn't have been happier to have the next book at my fingertips.

Paris... Here is where we really get to know Michelle. We have been reading up to this point from different points of view but we really focus on Michelle. The really awesome thing is that we see it truly as she did and by the time we switch back to Aaron I had kind of forgotten he was in the beginning. We meet a new villain in this book and I will be totally honest, I wasn't sure how I felt about them. I can tell you this you won't love to hate Michelle maker, you'll just hate him. There is a new element of the super natural that we meet up with towards the end of this book and I'm interest to see if it will make an appearance in later books. There is a great way that an element from each book is carried one through the next to make the story really seem less. Aaron is really struggling hard with some issues in this book and the predator side of him seems like it is going to get the upper hand a time or two. There is a great set up for a fourth book about Aaron and Michelle and even though Paris ends on something of a cliffhanger if Travis never wrote another words about them I could totally have inferred my own ending for these characters and been ok with that.

Blood Slave.. Here we get to read about a whole new set of characters. I have to say as much as I loved Aaron and Michelle these two really stole my heart. Blood Slave takes place in the same universe but we don't ever see those two pop up. I don't know if I loved Hope and Enrique because they are fantastic or their story was just amazing. We have seen blood slaves before but Ana wanted to be a blood slave Hope doesn't have a choice, as a matter of fact she barely knows Enrique before he gets her hooked on his bite. The characters are a little bit heart breaking, you really find yourself hurting for Hope. She almost never stood a chance in life. The story is told through Hope's eyes and it is so refreshing at this point of the series to see the blood slaves point of view. As much as you can see the love Aaron and Michelle have for each other I really feel like this is a love story. This is probably my favorite book of the series. There is a lot going on and I have to say for as outrageous as this series is because of the plot material after the first few paragraphs the supernatural aspect slips into the background and you just get sucked into the story.

Bottom line, there is a Nightlife London coming out in the future and it is going on the to read list. If you are into supernatural stories you have got to read this one. Just don't forget there is a serious amount of sex and violence so if that's not your thing just turn around now. If however you don't mind a little sex and blood this is a must read for you.

Happy reading,

~Notte

I thoroughly enjoyed this 4 in 1 set by Travis Luedke. The unique writing style peaked my interest while I fell for the characters more and more as I devoured New York, Las Vegas, Paris and Bloodslave. While I loved Michelle and Aaron in these, Hope captured my heart in the final installment. Her connection and Travis's world blew me away. Left me wide open and wanting more.

In New York, we start with Aaron and while his life is an average life of a lonely young man in the beginning, he soon finds his world turned upside down after he makes the decision to rescue a damsel in distress. Michelle swore off ever putting another what she had survived years past when Aaron walks into her life. On the brink of death, Aaron is saved and Michelle his angel.

Whether or not Aaron wanted the life of a creature of the dark, the bond he shares with Michelle is overwhelming to say the least. She has a power over him that he cannot deny or fight. Her only understanding of being a 'Master' was inhumane torture but when feelings arise between her and Aaron there's little they can deny from each other through their psychic bond.

In Las Vegas, both Michelle and Aaron are on the run, settling down only to lay low. Their past left in New York as well as their mistakes made. When Anastasia walks into their lives Aaron claims her as his. Sharing the life of the night Ana cannot deny herself the life she's known she's always meant to have. The life of a 'Bloodslave' is exciting, intoxicating and sensual in multiple ways. With a few hills to hurdle Michelle and Aaron have to climb to mutually agree on a few concerns but in the end, they know what will happen and who will survive.

In Paris, Aaron's loss has him grieving and fighting his demons daily. Michelle wants nothing more than to rebuild what they lost in hopes of finding the Aaron she once knew. With the beast lurking within, the traps around every corner, it gets harder and harder to control his reactions but will Michelle be able to reach Aaron before it's too late?

In Bloodslave, we get a glimpse into the other side, a new world Travis has built for us to explore. His unique writing style and amazing written characters come to life and there's no turning back. Hope's life laid out on the line, the connection is great. The story remarkable, the sensual scenes hot and dirty, the life altering situations and circumstances keep the pages turning. When there's nothing left will there be anything to bring Hope back with the lifeline she has to hold on to?

OMG!!! This was one of the best omnibus reads I've ever had the pleasure to read!!!! Travis you ROCK!!!!!!

Book 1: We meet Aaron and Michelle, he's a very nice guy working to improve his life and she's his dream girl, he just doesn't realize it yet! The action in all four books will keep you reading and flipping pages quicker than you think because you get very curious to see what happens next! I didn't really like Michelle at first but she does grow on you as you continue the story. You like Aaron from the start, he's just so down to earth and lovable.

Book 2: The adventure continues but in Las Vegas. Aaron has adjusted to his new life and is really enjoying himself. He's making a killing at the tables and that doesn't go over very well with the mob. They really don't like to lose at anything. The journey gets even more interesting when Ana comes into the picture. A very special person to both of them.

Book 3: We find Aaron and Michelle in Paris, she takes Aaron to her home to try and lift his spirits after what happens in Vegas. She takes him around and shows him the sites. There he also finds out exactly what happened to Michelle before she met him and about her life before she became a vampire moved to New York. That's also where Aaron finds himself in a bit of a bind.

Book 4: This one features a different set of characters but will still keep you glued to your reader. The action is outstandingly written and
you won't be disappointed that it has new characters to enjoy. Hope will steal your heart and make you feel just as much as she does while things rock and roll.

I can't wait until the next Nightlife book comes out! I will most assuredly be getting the next one in this series. Travis gives a whole new meaning to vampires!

I am not usually into characters where the heroine is the dominant in the relationship. I really enjoy my Alpha males. However, I thought I would give this series a shot, cause it sounded really intriguing.

Aaron is actually a really fun snarky guy to read, I preferred his POV most of the time. I was really rooting for him and Michelle to work their unconventional relationship out. I am a total sucker for HEA.

Each book takes you to a new local with this couple, their relationship progresses throughout the series and takes many twists and turns. Mr Luedke has created a full and colorful world! I love the attention to detail and continuity he shows through the series. So many wonderful supporting characters and dynamic plots. The pacing was beautiful, quick and active story line.

Yummy steamy action, your girlie parts will be screaming after a few scenes!! Oh boy, these supernaturals know how to do the hot and heavy!!

This is one of those series where you follow two characters through several books. That is not typically my favorite thing, I like getting new love stories and updates on past characters. Still this is a entertaining read that had me jumping for the next book.

Warning, these are not fru-fru happy stories. Vamp life is dark and dirty at times. You will encounter the seedy underbellies of the cities more often than not. Oh, you might also want to have a box of tissues hand for when it gets emotional.

While Vamps are not my favorites I really enjoyed this series and can't wait o check out more from this author!

*Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.*

The Nightlife Series, by Travis Luedke, follows the adventures of vampires Michelle and Aaron through several cities all over the world. In the debut, The Nightlife: New York, vampire Michelle saves Aaron with her blood, making him a vampire and her his master. In the second of the series, The Nightlife: Las Vegas, Michelle and Aaron take Vegas by storm. While there, Aaron makes Anastasia his bloodslave and the three of them all become lovers. Trouble finds the trio and the aftermath finds them heading to Paris, Michelle’s city. The third, The Nightlife: Paris, is a little different from the first two, in my opinion. This is the first time that we see a little bit of turmoil in the relationship between Aaron and Michelle, yet by book’s end they realize that they truly need one another despite all the trouble that Paris brings them. The fourth, The Nightlife: London finds them hunting down Michael Jamison, who stole Michelle’s blood, leaving her to die. Unlikely allies aid in the search, including Urvashi, a fallen angel who wants both Aaron and Michelle as lovers. The group must track him down and dispose of him before he ruins everything for them all.
The Nightlife series had everything a reader should want in a series of novels, complex but likeable characters, hot sex, and an element of danger in every book. Each of the books in the series improves upon the last. It never gets stale with the introduction of so many new characters and the danger escalating from one city to the next. You won’t be disappointed in this series and will want the Nightlife to continue to travel to new cities with more exciting adventures for Michelle and Aaron.

The Nightlife Series Omnibus
Caution this will cause you to become wet at any given moment with heated passion...you have been warned !!!
In a world where sex and violent is a way of life this is dark side of sex, violent and the life of a blood slave..
The characters was intriguing and sexy. Aaron was the biggest surprise lonely and homely boy turned sexy with spice of erotic and dark danger.
Michelle's tragic and cruel past left unforgiving when it came to male vampires. Aaron teaches her to love again after a near death tragic with two bad cops.
As a reader I want to tell you about this really amazing 4-1 book, Travis takes you into world of erotic vampire wild ride, but as a woman all I want do is tell you that he reach into your wildest fantasy and wrote about it..
The sex is something you can only dream about and wish for ...it getting hot in here.
In this collection of story you will get a really great read Blood Slave, it above an escort from Colombian Mafia who is turned into vampire blood slave.
This is one of his most disturbing, and terrifying yet. It was well written and will break your heart. I will not put in spoilers. You have get this you will not be disappointed.
Nonstop-action, suspense, sex with graph details and full of violence that will make you squeamish in your seat.

As a fan of paranormal stories I have read many vampire books so when I started The Nightlife Omnibus I hoped Travis Luedke was going to offer me an
unconventional take on the genre. When the 'master' of this story was unveiled as a woman I knew the author and I would be friends!
I enjoyed the fact that throughout the first three Nightlife stories Travis Luedke allows his reader to experience a side of the cities Michelle and Aaron visit; in the case of New York it is the police corruption; in Las Vegas the casinos and partying and in Paris the architecture.
Michelle and Aaron are complicated characters and although Aaron opens up to Michelle about his family in the first installment of Nightlife, he still has a dual personality, hiding his 'predator' self from everyone.
Michelle keeps secrets about her history from Aaron too and it is not until The Nightlife Paris that she is honest about herself in a long monologue. Here the reader feels sympathy for Michelle and all she has lost and Travis Luedke allows us to connect with her on a deeper level, preparing us for the coming events.
I like the way in which the author is so bold with his sex scenes; sex is often used by Michelle and Aaron as a means of expressing anger and passion as well as feeding and Travis Luedke's writing is able to reveal to vampire's eroticism and violence.
Although I really enjoyed the three Nightlife stories I was disappointed by Blood Slave. I look forward to reviewing The Nightlife London soon.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side!

Firstly I would like to thank Travis Luedke, author of The Nightlife Series Omnibus, for giving me this fantastic opportunity of reading and reviewing these awesome books!

OH.MY.GOD! This story is really awesome, literally. When I started with the story I thought that it would totally revolve around the sexual element but I was proved outright wrong by the author, the story is so much more and it is really intriguing.

I loved all the characters specially Aaron and Michelle was really great too. I liked the change of the background through out the story, mostly the stories are based and confined within a smaller area but this story let us through the streets and the nightlife of Paris, New York, Las Vegas and the change of scenario really spiced it up and kept the interest stakes high.

The story is fast-paced and after reading tons of Mighty Vampire and Whiny and Frail Human Chick romance novels this unique story was a fresh splash which really brought back my interest in vampires.

The erotic, sexy and dark sex scenes won the day for me and I really enjoyed those and the positive side is that the author didn't added anything that will gross you out which I frequently find in erotica books.

All in all a great, steamy and totally rocking read for ya all and hope that you'll like it as much as I did.

If you want great fast paced vampire blood lust, then you'll definitely want to read this fabulous set of books. Follow Aaron and Michelle in New York, where Aaron in turned by Michelle, then Las Vegas, where they fight with gangsters and finally to Paris, where they have more blood soaked adventures and we get to learn about Michelle's past and how she was turned.
In this collection you also get Blood Slave. It's about an escort for the Colombian Mafia who is turned Vampire blood slave.
Intriguing, often disturbing, terrific and sometimes terrifying. The stories are enlivened with vivid sexual illustrations and nothing is in black and white in this vampire gore-fest. Each book is well written and Travis Luedke is sure to capture a huge fan following, waiting for the next book.
At times tragic and very graphic. Gets your heart pumping and your mind and imagination working overtime.
Instead of re-telling the stories with spoilers, I'll just say that I greatly enjoyed the characters and their stories. Non-stop action, suspense and sex with graphic descriptions. If sex and violence makes you squeamish then you may want to think twice before reading this collection.

Ok, I've been a fan for a while. i came into the series on Blood Slave and then the Nightlife New York. I've reviewed both in the past so I'll get into the other two for my review.

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with Aaron. And In Las Vegas both he and Michelle have this colossally stupid period of time which costs them big time and comes back to continuously bite them in the ass. I was not prepared for vampires who develop a drug habit, even if only for a short period. I expect vampires to be immune to everything but sun, fire, and decapitation. The relationship between these two is so odd. I have to wonder do these vampires know how to be monogamous.

All in all, I've enjoyed the series so far. I get continuous chuckles at the authors mention of sizes of certain parts, but the author is a straight guy so these things are easy to forgive and simply chuckle over. I appreciate his rough, masculine style of writing. It's something the genre needs, even if mostly women read the genre.

*A complimentary e-copy of this book was given to me by the author in exchange for my honest review.*

I'm really not sure what to write here since my review won't do these books justice. What I can say is that this series is sexy, scary, & seductive. At times I was either holding my breath, flipping from one page to the next, or I was flushed from all the panty wetting scenes. The author definitely held my attention. This series is not all flowers & rainbows. It's dark, gritty, & passionate. What really surprised me was how much I felt while reading this series. I was not expecting to feel feelings while reading these books. Why? It's fiction, it's not real. I just thought it'd be a fun, paranormal, erotic read but it turned out to be so much more than I expected. Truly awesome. Of course, the author leaves you wanting more. I mean with vampires, bloodslaves, dirty cops, drug cartels, pimping, drugs, blood, & sex (lots of it!!) who wouldn't want more?

Overall, I really enjoyed this series. The characters, the action packed plot keeps your mind busy while you are in the story and the erotics scenes are just the icing on the cake. All the books in this story are truly new adventures nothing is repeated and every-time you dive into another book you are experiencing this story anew. I love, love , love this series and it has made it on my favorites list. I am so glad i joined this tour , if I didn't I would not have been able to experience travis's creative night life stories.

I would recommend these selection of books to anyone that enjoys a great vampire story that is gruesome, vivid, has blood, gore, action and amazing erotic scenes.

FTC Disclosure: I received these books for free from the author, editor, publisher, or Promo Host. This is my honest opinion about this book and I did not receive any monetary compensation for writing this review nor was I obligated to write a positive one.

I loved the Nightlife series because Mr. Luedke made the reason why vampires exist so plausible-you could visualize the event in your head and think it was almost real. The series is very action-packed; the plot twisting and turning almost with every page turn! I also liked how Mr. Luedke decided to take a journey with the characters Aaron and Michelle. As the events in New York unfolded and left the reader breathless, he accelerated his readers right into the bright lights of Las Vegas where he promptly introduced a new and tragic character. And after we halfway recovered from the events in Las Vegas, we were promptly taken on a ride into Michelle's past down the streets of Paris which proved cruel and unforgiving, but insightful into her mindset and behavior. I look forward to the next installment in the series.

Loved it. It was a change for me, reading about the dark and more sinister side of the vampire world. It intrigued me non the less. It was well written. I enjoyed the fact that Michelle spoke bits of French, it added to the sensual and sexy character I saw her as. Aaron I had to love, and surprisingly grew to like him more when he started to become darker and more volatile...even Michelle began to realise she loved him then. Ana as the vampire "pet" added more intrigue to the story. Different from my usual read but I have to admit one that I enjoyed reading.

I read all four books in this omnibus for a book tour. The following is my honest opinion.

Nightlife: New York

Poor Aaron was just responding to a damsel in distress. What did it get him? Shot by a dirty cop and then turned into a vampire by the aforementioned damsel.
This first dip into the Nightlife introduces us to Michelle, the damsel, and Aaron Pilan, her newly turned protege and lover. For most of the book, I liked Aaron. I liked Michelle. I did not like them together however. Their dynamics were stilted, odd, and weirdly tense. And that is why I liked this first book! Lust, sure! The weird dynamics are totally realistic when you're suddenly thrown together with someone you do NOT know at all. You are charged, fraught with tension, awkward, dealing with your issues, etc. I liked Michelle's nippy jealousy when Aaron seems to have a better power than she does; he can read minds, she can read auras. I like how he is overwhelmed and she grounds him. And I especially enjoyed the development of their relationship. It was fun to read. Some seriously hot sex scenes, a serious mess up by Michelle which starts with an assumption, resolution happens, woo. And a non-cliffhanger ending, but leading perfectly into the next book. I also enjoyed the intensely sexual feedings. I would much rather vampires be like this (intense, bloody, sexy) than de-fanged. At the end of this book, I was eager for more Michelle & Aaron.

Nightlife: Las Vegas

Aaron is using his mind-reading abilities to make a killing in Las Vegas at the poker tables. Unfortunately, he ticks off the wrong player gaining the ire of a sore loser named Demarco, a corrupt drug runner.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I liked the first one. We have no more information on Michelle's history, no true lessons, no development in their relationship. Instead, Aaron picks up a new blood slave/pet, Ana, convinces Michelle to keep her, and then the whole book is sex and drug use. There is the plot of Demarco being ticked off, hauling in his friends to help him steal Michelle and get rid of Aaron, the drug use stemming from that, and then a couple violent action scenes, but mostly it focused on sex and drug use, both for the vampires who were injected with heroin forcibly and the pet, Ana, who is addicted to the vampire venom and constantly looking for another fix while they are asleep during the day. The insta-love for the whiny, annoying Anastasia and lack of development of relationship just left me flat. I am the anomaly though as many people seemed to have love this book best. I guess erotica is hit or miss for me. However, if YOU like erotica, or books that focus mostly on sex with a few declarations of love tossed in, you will like this. The sex is copious and energetic with occasional bursts of primal, possessive, predatory violence from Aaron. The ending has this private detective, seemingly popping out of nowhere, an afterthought to go along with the Demarco plot, witnessing the carnage and deciding he wants to be a vampire so he follows them to Paris, sneakily...

Nightlife: Paris

Four days after the death of Ana, Aaron already wants another pet, something Michelle is adamantly against. All those declarations of love for Ana sound really realistic, huh? See? That's why I didn't like book 2. Nightlife: Paris however is much better. It is a thorough history on Michelle, how she became a vampire, how her view became so twisted, etc. And along with her history, we have this story line of the private detective who followed them to Paris, and then another storyline of an ancient myth is introduced as Aaron and Michelle become separated. As depraved and twisted her history is, I liked getting to know Michelle's history to understand what made her the way she is. As the tension rises and there is a lightbulb that seems to go over her head, things come to a halt as Aaron and Michelle are separated. He seemingly learns just how much he does love her although their master/servant bond is now severed and he belongs to someone else. There is a lot of mystery and things left hanging with a menacing cloud. You have to wonder what is going to come next!

Blood Slave
This fourth book in the omnibus, Blood Slave, was actually my favorite. The characters seem more real, even with telepathic powers, the danger certain, the horrors of life ringing true. While Hope has lead a most brutal life, she is very accepting of it in a strange, boiling anger kind of way: a fighter attitude just simmers beneath her supposed complacence. Sold into sexual slavery by her own father at the tender age of 14, life hasn't been easy for the 22 year old. Now in the US, she is a prostitute under the thumb of the Colombian drug cartel. Although not wholly aware of her telepathic gift, El Tiburon uses Hope more as a lie detector than a prostitute, allowing her to work for an escort service. Although her debt to him is paid off tenfold, he is continually raising it and demanding more and more money for the privilege of her being in the US, not allowing her to renew her visa, holding her hostage as an illegal.
After a lesbian client from the escort service ends up biting her and failing to hypnotize the telepathic Hope, Hope is kidnapped and presented to lesbian Lia's master, Enrique. Enrique turns Hope into a blood slave, exchanging her drug cartel prison for a shinier cage. Hope is terrified of Lia who is a total psycho just dying to rip her to shreds. For one who has lead such a harsh life, you have this hope (punny!) for Hope that her life is getting better. Not just a sex toy, she gets her legal visa and goes to work as an interpreting secretary and telepathic spy for Enrique's business ventures. And all is well until Enrique leaves her at the mercy of Lia when he goes to Panama for a business trip. I admit, it was hard to read. Poor Hope is tortured thanks to that psychotic so and so, tossed back to the brutal Arana of the drug cartel, raped, beaten, tortured, raped again, and then nearly killed when she tries to save Enrique from Lia's murderous intents. This book was one heck of a ride. Again with the copious amounts of sex, but it seemed more right in this instance. I'm not sure if it is because of Hope's profession or due to her intense, sad story that you were happy that she was finally getting some sex that focused on her.

******************
Overall for this omnibus, I would say it is gritty, dark, and intensely sexual. I love how every author I've read approaches vampires slightly differently and Travis Luedke is no different. These vampires have a unique flavor to them that is all them and unmistakable for someone else's vampires. I'd like to continue in Michelle and Aaron's story and see where Urvashi takes them. I wouldn't mind reading more of Hope, too, and see her become a vampire instead of just a pet. I think she and Enrique complement one another.

NL: New York
Aaron Pilan was living a very simple life, working as a waiter, living with his best friend Kyle. That all changed when he sees a drop dead gorgeous woman about to be assaulted by two police officers.
Michelle is a solitary vampire, and enjoys her life that way. But when Aaron steps in to help her and gets shot, she has a pang of remorse and gives him her blood.
Now they are linked, he is bound by her blood and if she doesn't like the way he acts she vows to end him so he cannot be a problem to her.
What happens when the dirty cops try to get ahold of Aaron and Michelle? Can they work through their new bond or will she have to end the life she just gave to Aaron? You have to read The Nightlife: New York to find that out.
I loved that Travis packs a punch with his vampires, they are not the girly nice vamps that are floating around in books not. They are raw, gritty, and super sexy.
NL: Las Vegas
In the Nightlife: Las Vegas, vampires Michelle and Aaron have moved on after a messy issues in New York. Michelle has one rule that she doesn't want broken, never make a bloodslave.
But when Aaron meets Anastasia, he cannot let her go, they have a connection even before he ever bites her.
While living in the casino, Aaron has not been very careful about watching how much money he is winning and that draws the attention of the Colombian Cartel.
Michelle is trying to keep Aaron under her control, and keep Ana alive. When she meets with a man he has other ideas about her, and takes care of the Aaron problem as well.
But vampires are harder to kill and Aaron is pissed off when he finds Michelle and Ana. Carnage ensues, but they aren't aware that they are being watched.
What will happen to Aaron when Ana is taken? Can he and Michelle save their pet?
You have to read this book to find that out.
Again Travis leaves a bloody, gritty, sexy tale that you cannot put down.
NL: Paris
In The Nightlife: Paris, Aaron has left Las Vegas with a broken heart, and Michelle seems to decide that it is time to start telling him about her past, but will he still look at her the same way once he realizes what she was in her past?
What neither Aaron or Michelle knows is that they were followed from Las Vegas, by a man that really wants to get a hold of Michelle at ant cost. He wants he blood, and he'll stop at nothing to get it.
As Michelle tells Aaron her life story, he is shocked and horrified by the things that she has done in her past. Can he ever reconcile the Michelle he knows with the Michelle she used to be?
When Michelle is taken and Aaron comes to find her she is dying. Can they survive death and separation?
When a new person finds Aaron, his life takes a complete turn as he is mourning for Michelle.
Can they all learn to live together, can Michelle survive what the man from Las Vegas does to her?
You have to read this to find that out.
This part of Aaron and Michelle's story was much darker than the other stories in the series. Kudos to Travis for putting some history into this story as well.
Bloodslave:
Her mother named her Esperanza Salvación – Hope for Salvation. But when a girl works as an escort for Colombian cartel in the ghettos of Spanish Harlem...
Working for the cartel boss Hope isn't sure that things could really get that much worse than what he life already is. She is ready to try to go to college and make something of her life, but the boss knows her secret, she is a telepath. He needs her to be his lie detector, and know one is going to take her.

When a client come to see Hope, her whole world is turned upside down. And the only one that can protect her is vampire Master Enrique. She is his bloodslave, she needs to have him, she loves him. But can a vampire ever truly love his bloodslave?
Hope is trusting in Enrique, that he won't ever hurt her or let the other vampire, Lia, hurt her either.

What happens when Hope is taken by her former bosses' henchman? Can Enrique save her and what is the fallout from such a horrible thing happening?
You need to read this book. I was in tears once or twice, I was screaming a few times!
Travis knows how to craft a wickedly awesome tale!

Oh. My. God! I read the first book in this four-book collection and couldn't wait to post a review! Yes, I know, I haven't read the latter three books yet. However, I know I'll love it. So here goes with the review of the first book. (I might get around to updating this review with the latter three books. Wanted to post this as soon as possible while the first book stayed fresh in my mind!)

Stories about vamps aren't usually my cup of tea. However, I really like this series. Told in third person point of view, we not only see the world through the two main characters' perspectives. We also hear from minor characters whose perspectives are very much needed so that the reader would have a more whole and complete understanding of the events that unfold.

In the first book, we meet Aaron who works the night shift at a local Italian restaurant in New York City. After his shift, he spies two detectives wanting to corner a beautiful woman whom they suspect of being a prostitute. These corrupt cops' intentions are not very clean. In their attempts to arrest the woman and have her under their thumb, a trigger goes off and the bullet lands in Aaron's chest. Beating up the cops, this woman quickly hauls Aaron away from the scene and rescues him with life-giving blood that turns him from human into something else.

Surprisingly, I found myself drawn into their world from page one and couldn't put the book down. I rooted for Aaron and Michelle's unconventional and unfolding master/slave, mentor/lover, etc relationship. Sexy, sweet, suspenseful at times, I also cared about the minor characters -- especially Talco, his family, and his desire to leave behind his old life and create a fresh legitimate beginning to a new life. I'm really happy about how the first book ended and am looking forward to reading the rest of the stories in this collection.

Category /Genre: Erotica, Paranormal
Received from: Travis Luedke (in exchange for an honest review)
Recommended for: 18+ due to erotic sexual situations
Grammar/editing: B – a few small errors

THE NIGHTLIFE NEW YORK
THE NIGHTLIFE LAS VEGAS
THE NIGHTLIFE PARIS
BLOOD SLAVE

The first three books chronicle the relationship between Michelle and Aaron. Michelle has been a vampire for about 80 years and has recently claimed Aaron when he is shot defending her against a pair of crooked cops in New York. When the cops retaliate, Aaron's new strengths unleash his inner predator defending his mate. The pair then moves to Las Vegas and this time there is a drug cartel that has them in their sites. Leaving the death and destruction they have met behind, they then turn to Paris, but they have been followed. Their hunter has seen their unique gifts and has plans that may separate them permanently. BLOOD SLAVE is a companion book with new characters and storyline, but the same "rules" of vampirism remain.

This is a shocking, violent, darkly erotic romance series that does not fail to deliver a psychic blow to your mind and heart. Mr. Luedke's writing is raw and impassioned. My own feral animal wanted to lash out when interrupted during the reading of these stories. Though a little more violent than my usual preference, I am glad I read this. Most romance and erotica is written by women and for women. This has the harder edge of a man's point of view that does not apologize for its grittiness and instead revels in it.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)

This series was definitely portraying the darker side of the vampire legend. Travis Luedke throws you deep into the blood, sex, and violence of what a modern day vampire would exist in. There is no flowery love or animal blood diets in this story. It is the gritty, down & dirty truth of what a vampire should be. Travis is a gifted author, he creates a vivid picture of the action without sacrificing character development. With that being said, I still had a hard time fully embracing this story. For me, it is just a matter of preference. It was like being a level above watching everything take place, instead of being a part of it. And for me to really love a book, I have to become part of the story. But like I said, that is just a personal thing. I can see this book doing really well and enjoyed by many, because he is a gifted writer. It was interesting seeing the darker side of a vampire and truly feeling fear for what a human becomes once he shifts over. So thank you for the opportunity, for showing what appears to be a more "real" look at vampire life.

I am glad I bought the omnibus edition because the books are pretty fast paced and not very long. You get the three Nightlife stories and a fourth stand alone story. They are vampires that have to abide by the traditional rules, so can't go out in sun light, incredibly fast and strong and most importantly are drop dead gorgeous. They have a venom in their bite that gives the recipient orgasms when bitten. They also do this to each other a lot, in fact they barely stop fucking though out the entire stories. The sex is gritty and written in quite a base way which suits the story for the most part, but I started to get bored with the repetitiveness of it. That went for the stand alone story as well, and I feel that the story line could have had more work so the sex parts didn't have to pad it out so much.
The three stars I've given say "I liked it" and I will read Nightlife-London when it comes out. The story at the end of Nightlife-Paris had become very interesting and I think it was the best book of the three. It should make for an exciting next book I hope.
